Recap
More than a few seasons ended on Sunday, with Gonzaga, NJIT, Alabama, North Dakota State, North Carolina, Oklahoma State, Florida State, Charlotte, Indiana State, Duke, South Carolina, TCU, UConn, Miami and Arizona State all among the teams suffering their second losses of the regionals.
TCU is perhaps the biggest shocker of that group. The Horned Frogs finished the season ranked No. 8 in the country but only managed three hits and two runs against five Oregon State pitchers.
Justin Boyd's RBI single in the top of the ninth was the difference, as Oregon State kept its season alive, at least temporarily.
No. 23 Duke's season-ending loss was nearly as surprising, as the Blue Devils were blown out by Liberty.
Mason Meyer tossed a complete game for the Flames, while Jaylen Guy was brilliant, finishing with five RBI, including a three-run homer.
Oh, and he robbed a dinger, too:
Gonzaga was yet another top-25 team to bite the dust, as the No. 25 Bulldogs fell to LSU. The Tigers broke this one wide open in the early going, answering Gonzaga's two-run first with a four-run inning of their own, followed by a pair of two-run innings in the second and third.
Dylan Crews led the way three hits, two runs and an RBI, while AJ Labas threw eight innings of six-hit, four-run ball, striking out eight.
