Miami Heat Video: Watch Dwyane Wade Throw a Sick Alley-Oop to LeBron James
The Miami Heat are rolling through their opponents to start the season. They aren’t afraid to do it with some pizazz either when the opportunity presents itself.
Midway through the second quarter against the Boston Celtics last night, Dwyane Wade and LeBron James showed off their incredible athleticism and teamwork against an older, slower team.
D-Wade received an outlet pass at midcourt and started racing up through the defense. After just a dribble, he maintained control around the foul line and lofted up a sick, no-look hook pass to a tailing LeBron for an easy, extremely pretty alley-oop jam.
The play happened with the Heat already up 81-65 on their Eastern Conference rival and the beautiful pass and ferocious slam certainly demoralized the C’s.
Although Boston would make a late run to keep the game close, Miami ultimately won the game with Wade and LeBron combining for 50 points and unheralded Norris Cole dominating the fourth quarter by putting up 14 of his 20 in the period.
The Celtics were without Paul Pierce for the second-straight game, but he certainly wouldn’t have helped them defend plays like this.
Miami is simply too fast when they get out in transition for a team like Boston to stop.
They have two of the most athletic superstars the game has ever seen in their prime going up against a group of creaky, grizzled old veterans like Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Jermaine O’Neal.
While they can still compete and definitely do in the half court, giving up transition oops like this is going to be the Celtics’ downfall.
Miami has proved they are the team to beat in the East and you can tell they are motivated, humbled and ready to dominate after their Finals loss to the Dallas Mavericks last season.
