Floyd Schofield vs. Lucas Bahdi Live Updates, Highlights and Results
It's all about second chances for Floyd Schofield.
The 24-year-old from New Jersey was three days out from a shot at then-WBC lightweight champ Shakur Stevenson 18 months ago before pulling out with an illness. He then came in slightly over the 135-pound limit for Saturday's fight for the vacant WBA title against Lucas Bahdi at Wintrust Arena in Chicago.
Schofield dropped six-tenths of a pound and made weight in time to go ahead with the WBA title fight, which will top a four-bout DAZN-streamed main card.
Main Card
- Floyd Schofield vs. Lucas Bahdi, 12 rounds, lightweight
- Ricardo Sandoval vs. Sergio Mendoza, 12 rounds, flyweight
- Jahmal Harvey vs. Pedro Castro, 8 rounds, lightweight
- Jan Rivera vs. Abraham Valdez, 10 rounds, super featherweight
The WBA title became vacant in June when Gervonta Davis was moved to "champion in recess" status.
Schofield, ranked first by the WBA and seventh by Ring Magazine, is 19-0 with 13 KOs. Bahdi is ranked second by the WBA and eighth by The Ring.
B/R will provide live updates when ring walks begin shortly after 8 p.m.
