Indiana Fever vs. Las Vegas Aces WNBA Playoffs Live Updates, Highlights and Analysis for Game 1

Hunter CruseSep 27, 2026

The Las Vegas Aces completely dominated the Indiana Fever in Game 1 of the 2026 WNBA playoffs, cruising to a 102-85 win to take a 1-0 series lead.

A'ja Wilson put together one of the most dominant playoff performances in WNBA history, finishing with 38 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks. The only player to ever post those numbers in a playoff game was Wilson herself, when she did it against Chicago in the first round in 2023.

Las Vegas' big three of Chelsea Gray, Jackie Young and Wilson combined for 73 of the team's 102 points. On the other end, Indiana's superstar backcourt of Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell combined for just 27 points on 30 percent shooting from the field in the loss.

Here's everything that happened in Game 1, including live updates, highlights and analysis.

Final: Las Vegas 102, Indiana 85

What a two-way performance from the Las Vegas Aces. This team continues to elevate their play when it matters most every year.

Wilson scored just about everything around the rim, hit tough mid-range jumpers, knocked down threes and was ELITE defensively. But Jackie Young and Chelsea Gray were incredible, too, while the role players each did their jobs at a high-level.

Las Vegas outscored Indiana by 35 points with Young, Gray and Wilson on the court together. Insanity.

If Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell combine for less than 30 points, there's just no way for the Fever to stay in a game against this Aces team. The defense has to be a lot better as well.

A'ja Wilson Makes History

A'ja Wilson checks out with 38 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks on 15-of-19 shooting.

She's the first player to record at least 35 points and 15 rebounds on 70 percent shooting in any WNBA game.

Truly one of the greatest performances in the league's history.

Indiana's Back Within 15

Well, the game might not be over yet. Indiana opened the fourth on a 6-0 run to cut the deficit to 15 points.

End of the 3Q: Las Vegas 86, Indiana 65

It shouldn't be possible to be as good at basketball as A'ja Wilson is. She's up to 30 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks, while Las Vegas takes a 21-point lead into the fourth quarter.

The Aces have been incredibly efficient (from everywhere) all afternoon, shooting 65.7 percent from two, 56 percent from three and 87 percent from the free-throw line.

Las Vegas Is Pulling Away

Las Vegas now leads by 21 points midway through the third quarter. The Aces have made Kelsey Mitchell almost a non-factor offensively, and are drilling shots on what feels like every possession.

Just a beautiful mix of tough shot-making, passing and defense from Las Vegas.

A'ja Wilson Defensive Masterclass

Seriously, what do you even do against A'ja Wilson?

She's flying around everywhere making stuff happen defensively. There's still eight minutes left in the third quarter, and Wilson already has four blocks and two steals.

Gray Moves Up All-Time Playoff Scorers List

Chelsea Gray has moved into the No. 10 on the WNBA's all-time playoff scoring leaderboard.

If Las Vegas advances to the semifinals, Gray could climb as high as No. 8 by the end of the playoffs. She's only 44 points away from Minnesota legend Lindsay Whalen.

Halftime: Las Vegas 62, Indiana 47

Las Vegas only led by two points with six minutes remaining in the second quarter, but from there, the Aces' big three continued to score possession after possession.

A'ja Wilson has been unstoppable. She has 22 points on 9-of-11 shooting from the field. There's never been a player better than this in WNBA history. Full stop.

Las Vegas has also been effective defensively, forcing nine Indiana turnovers that have directly led to 18 Aces points. Kelsey Mitchell has just nine points on 3-of-12 shooting in the first half (and no 3-pointers made).

Aces Take 11-Point Lead

Las Vegas forced the Caitlin Clark turnover, then Jackie Young stepped into a pull-up three on the other end to extend the Aces' lead to 11.

The Stars Are Putting On A Show

Just enjoy this 45-second clip.

Indiana and Las Vegas went back and forth, with Chelsea Gray, Caitlin Clark, A'ja Wilson and Aliyah Boston scoring on four-straight possessions.

Hello, Raven Johnson

Indiana Fever rookie Raven Johnson entered the game to open the second quarter and already has four points in her playoff debut.

End of the 1Q: Las Vegas 27, Indiana 23

We expected plenty of offense between the Aces and Fever, and that's exactly what we've gotten. Both teams are pushing the pace and attacking downhill.

The Aces are shooting 58 percent from the field, led by A'ja Wilson's nine points. Jackie Young also has five assists.

Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell have struggled to find their rhythm so far, combining to shoot just 3-of-14 from the field in the first quarter. Despite that, Indiana is still within four points.

Back-To-Back Cunningham Threes 🎯

Sophie Cunningham knocks down 3-pointers on back-to-back possessions to cut Las Vegas' lead to two.

10-0 Aces Run

Las Vegas has scored 10 points over the two minutes to take an eight-point lead with 1:34 remaining in the first quarter.

A'ja Wilson has been unreal on both ends. She has six points, two blocks and a steal so far.

The Clark-Mitchell Connection

Caitlin Clark finds Kelsey Mitchell on this backdoor cut for an easy layup.

What a pass from Clark, and there's no question Mitchell is the best cutter in the league.

Caitlin Clark's First Playoff Points

Caitlin Clark scores her first points of the 2026 postseason with this beautiful step-back jumper.

Chelsea Gray Shot Creation

Indiana is mixing up their defensive looks against Chelsea Gray, even putting 6'4" Makayla Timpson to *hopefully* bother some of her shots.

But it didn't matter here. Gray still found a way to create enough space to knock down the mid-range jumper.

A'ja Wilson Shuts Down Aliyah Boston

On the first possession of the game, Indiana went to Aliyah Boston in the post on a switch, but A'ja Wilson was right there in help to block her at the rim.

The three-time champion is dominating on both ends early.

Starting Lineups

The Aces and Fever are sticking with their usual starting lineups to begin the first round.

Las Vegas: Chelsea Gray, Jackie Young, Stephanie Talbot, Brianna Turner and A'ja Wilson

Indiana: Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell, Lexie Hull, Makayla Timpson and Aliyah Boston

Timpson will make her first career postseason start at 24 years old. She's averaged 9.0 points and 6.3 rebounds on 69 percent shooting in 13 games since becoming a full-time starter.
