Omega (c) vs. Knight - Part 2
Back in the ring, Kenny Omega told Kevin Knight he would never be him or take the gold away from The Cleaner followed by a pair of V-Triggers.
As Omega called for the One Winged Angel, The Jet turned it around into a Poisonrana.
The two battled back and forth until Omega caught Knight with a snappy Top-Rope Sunset Flip Powerbomb into a second Powerbomb followed by a V-Trigger.
Omega set up a Super Snap Dragon, but Knight tripped him into the Tree of Woe followed by Coast to Coast. The Jet then grabbed both championships.
He distracted referee Bryce Remsburg with the Men's World Championship then blasted The Cleaner with a Crash Landing on the TNT Championship.
Omega managed to kick out, firing back. The Jet managed to jump out of the One Winged Angel one more time, but a final V-Trigger set up the definitive One Winged Angel for the victory.
Winner: Kenny Omega to retain the Men's World Championship
This was a great main event and even more importantly a perfect audition for Knight as a future main event star.
He was never going to beat Omega on the road to All In. He did show that he could win that world championship in the future.
Afterward, the celebration was quickly ruined by The Death Riders, who stomped Omega into the mat.
The Young Bucks tried to make the save, but the numbers game was still too much for The Elite.
Will Ospreay arrived to make the save and refused to let anyone hurt The Cleaner, turning against The Death Riders. He sent them packing, even hitting Jon Moxley, before throwing off his patch.
Ospreay and Omega celebrated together until The Cleaner shockingly laid out The Aerial Assassin with the One Winged Angel. He stood tall with reluctant Young Bucks.
It is hard to say where Omega will go from here, but that came off as a heel turn, even if it is a complicated turn going into All In.
This was a weak PPV on paper and an inconsistent show in practice. The highs were more plentiful than the lows, but this will likely stand as AEW's weakest PPV of the year.
