The Open Championship 2026 Live Updates, Latest Results, Highlights and Scores for Third Round

We've reached the weekend at Royal Birkdale Golf Club, and the storylines that will define the 2026 Open Championship are rapidly developing.

Defending champ Scottie Scheffler has recovered from his missed cut at the Scottish Open last week and is four shots back of leader Lucas Herbert, very much in contention for back-to-back Open victories and his fifth major win after carding matching 68s on Thursday and Friday.

Both Herbert and Sam Burns tied the record low score for a round in a major with 62s on Friday.

Unusually dry and fast conditions remain a major factor, and several players have gone low over the first two days of the tournament.
