AEW Dynamite Beach Break Live Updates, Results and Highlights From July 8

The show ended with Omega celebrating his big win. He and Fletcher both came away from Beach Break as new champions, and Willow became the No. 1 contender. All in all, this was a very eventful episode.

We returned from the final commercial break to see Omega starting to gain some momentum. They fought on the apron, but MJF avoided a One-Winged Angel.

The challenger hit a rolling slam at ringside, but when he went for a moonsault, MJF got his knees up to block. He grabbed Omega and hit a tombstone on a steel chair, but his own injured leg gave out on him afterward.

Omega tried to get in some offense, but he almost collapsed. He hit a V-Trigger and set up for his finisher, but he had to settle for a German suplex when MJF slipped out.

Kenny put him on the top turnbuckle and climbed up with him. MJF turned it into a poison rana, and he followed it up with a Heatseeker, but Omega kicked out at the last possible moment.

When MJF tried to use his diamond ring, Ospreay ran down and took it from him. Omega almost used the title as a weapon, but he had a change of heart. MJF took advantage and hit a low blow, followed by a shot with the belt.

Omega kicked out at one and shocked the champion. He drilled MJF with a trio of V-Triggers before lifting him up for the One-Winged Angel to get the win and become the new world champion.

WINNER: KENNY OMEGA WINS THE WORLD TITLE

Both men took each other down with clotheslines at the same time. MJF went outside the ring and cleared off the announce table. He prepared for a piledriver from the apron, but Omega slipped out.

Omega hit a running kick that sent MJF flipping off the apron into the announce table.

Commercial Break

Omega got a special entrance for this match, but MJF's was his usual setup. Max's right leg was heavily taped up.

Omega ran at MJF when the bell rang, and they started throwing hands right away. MJF took the low road, as usual, with a thumb to the eye. Omega tried to counter a back suplex but he ended up falling, which caused MJF to stand there confused for a moment.

They ended up tumbling out of the ring, and both men had a hard landing. MJF jumped the barricade and tried to leave, but Kenny chased him. They battled in the crowd, but since they weren't in a proper arena, it was a little on the dark side.

They eventually got back to the ring. MJF used some dirty tactics, including biting Omega's face. MJF used the ropes to slingshot Omega into the ring and right into a cutter for a two-count.

Omega avoided a Heatseeker, so MJF followed him up to the stage. Omega climbed up on the lifeguard chair and hit a moonsault to take the champion down.

The challenger hit a big dive over the top rope when they got back to the ring. He stayed on MJF and hit a few high-impact moves before he was tripped into the middle rope with a drop toe hold.

The final match of the night saw MJF defend the men's world title against Omega, but if Omega loses, he will never get to challenge for the belt again.

Thunder Rosa was the next woman to enter the match as soon as the show returned. She took out Skye, Julia and Athena with different moves, including dropkicking a chair into Blue.

Athena almost pinned Mina, but everyone else broke it up at the same time. The clock ticked down, and Willow Nightingale returned as the next entrant.

There was fighting happening in and out of the ring, so it was hard to spot everything, but in the end, Willow hit Julia with The Babe with the Powerbomb for the win.

WINNER: WILLOW NIGHTINGALE

After the match, Megan Bayne and Lena Kross attacked Julia and Skye on the stage. In the ring, Thekla attacked Willow. She was preparing to hit her with the world title, but Mercedes hit Thekla first.

The CEO hit Willow with the Owen belt, too. It looks like Mercedes and Divine Dominion might have formed an alliance.

Right when we returned, Mina Shirakawa came out as the fourth competitor. Now that there were two heels and two faces, they paired off and fought. Maya and Mina took down Skye and Athena before they started fighting each other.

The fifth woman to enter the match was STARDOM's Rina. Thekla put over Rina on commentary as she went after everyone in the ring. She and Mina took a moment to acknowledge each other before engaging.

Julia Hart entered the ring next to give The Triangle of Madness two competitors in this bout. The champion cheered on her teammates and said as long as the title stays in the Triangle of Madness, she is good.

Julia and Skye ended up attacking a security guard and Justin Roberts. They started taking out every member of security who tried to stop them as the show went to a break.

Commercial Break

Athena was the first competitor to enter the ring, and she was joined by Maya World. They wasted no time getting into it. They traded some big strikes in the middle of the ring.

The Forever ROH Champion took control for a moment, but Maya hit a suplex and a moonsault for a two-count right before Skye Blue entered as the third competitor.

Skye pulled Athena from the ring, but the ROH champion scooped her up and slammed her into the side of the steel steps in a spot that did not look fun for Skye to take.

The next match is the Casino Gauntlet to find a new No. 1 contender for the women's world title. Thekla came out to watch from ringside with a drink in her hand. Mercedes Mone was also shown watching from a lifeguard chair on the stage.

We returned to see Ospreay being double-teamed for a two-count. Moxley was yelling instructions from the apron as Will started to build some momentum.

He made the tag, and Moxley immediately hit a suicide dive to Drake. Moxley rolled out of the ring so Marina could slap him a few times to get him fired up.

Ospreay grabbed Henry for a Styles Clash while Moxley hit Henry with a piledriver. They hit the combo Paradigm Shift and Hidden Blade for the pin and the win.

WINNERS: WILL OSPREAY AND JON MOXLEY

Ospreay and Jon Moxley were in tag team action this week against JD Drake and Anthony Henry, who did not get a televised entrance.

Moxley took Henry down to begin a grappling sequence. Henry gloated a bit after hitting a successful arm drag, so Mox took him down with one shot. Drake tagged in and hit a chop that knocked Moxley off his feet.

Henry came back in and tried to hit some kicks to the chest, but Moxley no-sold it and made the tag to Ospreay. Billy Goat got a chant going before taking out both WorkHorsemen with a slingshot crossbody out of the ring.

Commercial Break

Fletcher and the DCF were still in the ring after the break. Mick Foley came out to interview the new champion.

Kyle said Takeshita was never his friend. He proudly said he brought the International Championship back to The Callis Family.

Callis accused Foley of trying to steal the spotlight from a young talent. Foley showed off some shoes he had made with pictures of his dogs on them, and then he said if Callis disrespects him again, one of those shoes will end up in his butt.

Kevin Knight came out and congratulated Fletcher, but he also threw a little shade at him for taking so long. Then, Knight brought up that he is still owed a world title shot.

Andrade El Idolo came out and said he plans to take one of the belts from the Family. Callis offered him a match against Jake Doyle, and if he wins, he will get a shot at the International Championship.

A few members of DCF chased El Idolo to the backstage area. Darby Allin appeared to attack Knight. Brian Cage tried to use his skateboard as a weapon, but it exploded near his face, which was apparently triggered by Andrade.

They were still brawling when we went back to the ring.

We returned right after Takeshita hit a superplex on The Protostar. They went back and forth with punches and kicks until Fletcher nailed a superkick. Takeshita rebounded and hit a Blue Thunder Bomb.

They ended up on the apron, where Takeshita hit a slam followed by a German suplex that took both men down to the floor. Big Take hit a reverse hurricanrana, but Fletcher popped right up and hit a Michinoku Driver for a two-count.

Takeshita started to build some momentum and positioned Fletcher near the corner. Kyle jumped up and hit a huge kick to the head. He tried to hit a super brainbuster, but Takeshita countered with a massive powerbomb.

He hit the Raging Fire, but his arm was too injured to capitalize properly. Fletcher almost got the win with his trademark brainbuster. He tried to stay on the champion and got him on the turnbuckle for a super brainbuster against the top turnbuckle for the win.

WINNER: KYLE FLETCHER WINS THE INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

The Conglomeration came out to help Takeshita, while the Don Callis Family helped Fletcher celebrate winning the title. After such a long buildup to beating Okada for the belt, it was surprising to see Takeshita's reign end so soon.

Konosuke Takeshita put his International Championship on the line against Fletcher in the next matchup. The duo once known as ProtoShita were now bitter rivals, so a lot of people were looking forward to this one.

They started with a simple lockup, but when they had to break, Kyle shoved Konosuke against the ropes. They locked up again, but this time, Fletcher took him down with a wristlock.

Fletcher slapped him to begin an exchange of strikes. They countered each other a few times before Takeshita hit a big flying forearm to take his former friend down. Even though the pace was quick, you could tell they were saving a lot of their big spots for later in the match.

The Protostar had the upper hand and took a moment to take a drink from a bottle of water, but Takeshita punched him in the face while his mouth was full. He had a moment with Don Callis and Lance Archer at ringside.

Fletcher dodged an elbow strike against the ring post and Takeshita's arm hit it, giving Kyle an opening to attack.

Commercial Break

Before the break, Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor beat up some guys in a bar. Will Ospreay was interviewed by Renee about the possibility of Omega losing tonight. MJF walked up and interrupted them.

They traded some insults until MJF slapped Will. This caused Ospreay to go after him and they fought for a few seconds until security broke them up.

When we got back to the arena, Kyle Fletcher made his entrance.

We returned to see Jericho starting to fight back. They traded a series of chops in the ring until Jericho put him in the corner for a hurricanrana, but Ciampa grabbed him and hit a jumping White Noise from the middle rope for a two-count.

Jericho fought back and ended up hitting the hurricanrana on the second attempt. He followed up with a brainbuster, but it wasn't enough to get the pin.

Tommaso tried to grab a bucket of sand to use as a weapon, but he turned around and was immediately hit with a Codebreaker for another near-fall.

Ciampa recovered and lined up for a running knee, but Jericho grabbed him and turned it into a Liontamer. Ciampa was able to escape and threw sand in his face before hitting the running knee for the win.

WINNER: TOMMASO CIAMPA

Ciampa grabbed a steel chair from ringside and nailed Chris in the head with it. He went out of the ring and retrieved a tool bag containing a drill.

Officials were able to stop him from using it on Jericho, so he popped an inflatable with it as he left the area.

Ciampa waited on the stage for Chris Jericho to come out, but Y2J came through the crowd and surprised him with a running shot to the head. They started fighting on the sand on the stage as "Judas" continued to play.

The match hadn't officially started yet, but once Jericho tossed Ciampa into the ring, the ref called for the bell. Jericho hit a dive from the top rope to the floor as he continued to control the pace.

Ciampa was able to hit a big running knee strike to turn the tide in his favor. He immediately bragged and started acting like he had won something, which got some loud boos from the crowd.

They ended up on top of the steel steps, where Ciampa hit a Pedigree-like maneuver that dropped Jericho right on his face. It was a brutal-looking move, and Jericho was bleeding from his head when we saw him again.

Commercial Break

The setup for this show was unique, even for AEW. It was an open-air arena, and you could see the sun setting behind the stage.

Tommaso Ciampa made his entrance to kick off the action.

The Beach Break episode of Dynamite is officially on the air! The show opened with Renee Paquette interviewing Kenny Omega about putting future title shots on the line against MJF. Omega talked about his career dating back to the indies, and said he will even shake MJF's hand if he loses.

All Elite Wrestling having a Twitch pre-show before Dynamite with popular streamers might become a regular thing if this does well.
