Welcome to Bleacher Report's live coverage of WWE SmackDown on March 5. This is the final show before Fastlane on Sunday, so almost every segment will deal with building the pay-per-view. This week's show will feature another United States Championship open challenge from R-Truth and a singles match between The Miz and Jey Uso. We will also see The Hardy Boyz continue their quest to win the tag titles and Kevin Owens preparing to face Daniel Bryan on Sunday. Keep it locked right here for live updates of all the action.

    Never Count the Man Out

    Charlotte kicks out the crutch from Becky's hand and starts attacking her injured knee. Lynch turns things around and locks in the DisArmHer. A few officials come to break up the fight. SmackDown ends with Becky talking trash from the ring while Charlotte leaves up the ramp.

    Becky comes out and says it's good to be back on SmackDown. She claims she is in Charlotte and Ronda's head and that she is still there after Rousey gave her the best she had last night. She says she has beaten Charlotte on one good leg and she will do it again on Sunday.

    The Queen and the Man

    Charlotte heads to the ring after the break to have a talk with Becky Lynch before their match on Sunday.

    Kevin Owens vs. Rowan

    Despite a few punches from Owens, Rowan takes control right away. He crushes KO in the corner before taking him down with a dropkick. Bryan taunts Owens from the commentary table and KO attacks him. Rowan intervenes and sends Kevin into the steel steps. He flattens Owens and Bryan gets on top of him to deliver some punches, causing a disqualification in the process. Rowan delivers a body slam on the floor.

    Mandy Rose vs. Naomi

    Naomi sticks Mandy with a kick to the face right away. She maintains the upper hand with a jawbreaker, but a distraction from Sonya on the apron allows Rose to hit a knee to the face followed by her finisher for the pin and the win.

    Tag Team Turmoil

    Rusev and Nakamura ambush Black and Ricochet after the match and The Hardy Boyz come out to make the save. They help clear the ring and celebrate with the newcomers.

    The Bar vs. Aleister Black and Ricochet Part 2

    Cesaro is in control after the break. He keeps Ricochet grounded with a series of submissions. Black gets the hot tag and unloads on Sheamus with a flurry of kicks. He takes the Irishman down with a moonsault and a knee to the face, but Cesaro breaks up the pin at the last second. The Swiss Superman tags himself in so they can hit a double team for a two count. Cesaro counters a backdrop by landing on his feet only to end up taking Black Mass a second later. Ricochet tags in and hits the 630 for the pin and the win.

    The Bar vs. Aleister Black and Ricochet Part 1

    Sheamus kicks Ricochet in the gut to start the match. The One and Only fires back with some right hands and a headscissor takeover. He hits a standing shooting star press for two. The Celtic Warrior puts him on the apron and sends him flying with a jumping knee as we head to a commercial.

    R-Truth vs. Samoa Joe vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Andrade (US Title) Part 2

    We return to see Andrade hit the Three Amigos on Rey. He heads to the top turnbuckle and mocks Eddie Guerrero's signature pose. Mysterio trips him and climbs up. Truth puts Andrade on his shoulders, but he gets rolled up for a two count while Rey takes down Joe with a springboard crossbody. The action picks up as everyone starts hitting each other with power moves. Andrade hits a moonsault to Rey, but then Joe rams him into the ring post. Truth starts to build momentum as he takes on Joe and Rey at the same time. He hits the Five Knuckle Shuffle for a near fall. Joe applies the Coquina Clutch, but Rey breaks it up with a 619. Truth gets kicked out of the ring by Andrade and hit with a splash by Mysterio. Andrade plants Rey with a powerbomb on the floor and may have landed funny on his neck. Zelina Vega takes down Truth with a hurricanrana and Mella makes her pay with a superkick. The crowd chants "This is awesome" as Rey dials up for the 619. Joe comes in and hits a huge side slam to Andrade to score the pin and become the new U.S. champion.

    R-Truth vs. Samoa Joe vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Andrade (US Title) Part 1

    The match is already in progress when we return. Samoa Joe is in firm control as he dodges a crossbody from Mysterio before throwing Andrade and Truth out of the ring. Joe brings Andrade in the ring so he can deliver some chops and jabs in the corner. Almas drills him with a back elbow right before Joe dumps him out of the ring so he can hit a huge suicide dive. Joe continues to control the pace until Truth dropkicks him into the barricade.

    Everyone Wants a Shot 🇺🇸

    Samoa Joe comes down to answer the U.S. open challenge, but he is followed closely by Rey Mysterio and Andrade. It looks like we have a Fatal 4-Way for the title.

    R-Truth Is a National Treasure

    R-Truth comes out and says he wants to be like his childhood hero, John Cena, which is hilarious because he is older than Cena. He says John used to do open challenges every week and he isn't sure he can do the same thing.

    The Miz vs. Jey Uso

    We return to see Jey starting to build some momentum after The Miz controlled him through the break. Miz puts him in the corner for a few running double knees, but he misses a clothesline and Jey uses a backslide to get a near fall. Miz responds with a DDT for his own two count. Uso hits a running hip strike and climbs to the top rope. Miz tries to block the Superfly Splash but Uso sees it coming. Jimmy tries to interfere and Shane takes him down with a clothesline. Miz hits Jey with the Skull Crushing Finale for the pin and the win.

    Hyping the Match

    The Usos give a promo to hype their upcoming tag title match against McMiz at Fastlane. The Miz and Shane give their own speech before this match begins. The Usos try to rush them and get sent out of the ring by the former champions as we head to a break.

    Owens Is Fighting for All of Us

    Owens admits he has lost friends due to his own actions, but he didn't need any friends to beat Bryan with a Stunner last week. Owens takes out Rowan before going after Bryan. Rowan comes back in and takes KO down with his palm slam.

    Owens Is a Man of the People

    Owens says it was hard to watch Bryan act like he was above everyone else while he was injured. Owens is clearly going for a babyface character right now. He says he speaks for the entire WWE Universe when he says Bryan deserves to have his mouth shut. He says Bryan acts like he is enlightened while making lowbrow jokes.

    The Planet's Champion 🌎

    Bryan gets in a few digs at The New Day before talking about Kevin Owens. He says the people like KO because he is just like all of us, and that is why he doesn't deserve a title shot. Owens' music hit and he walks out on the stage.

    He Was Robbed

    The video shows all of the recent events surrounding the WWE title and Kofi Kingston. Bryan says he stayed silent last week while everyone else gushed about Kofi. Chants for Kofi almost drown out Bryan's voice. Rowan tries and fails to get the crowd to shut up.

    SmackDown opens with Daniel Bryan heading to the ring with Rowan by his side. Bryan doesn't say anything and simply motions to the big screen so we can watch a video.
