NBA Free Agency 2018: Live Updates, Rumors and Signings for July 2

12:05pm UTC Jul 2, 2018NBA
Andy Bailey

No case of the Mondays here. The NBA's free agency period went absolutely wild on Day 2, as Rajon Rondo signed with the Los Angeles Lakers and DeMarcus Cousins signed with the Golden State Warriors. Yes, that's right. Boogie Cousins is a Warrior. That means, once he's healthy in January or February, Golden State's likely starting lineup of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green and Cousins would consist of five 2018 All-Stars. The rich have gotten beyond richer. Those weren't the only deals on a big Monday, either. Scroll below to see all the signings that have been announced so far, as well as reaction to the deals.

If you sort players by the average of their RANKS in seven different catch-all metrics (four rate, three counting), Avery Bradley was 339th out of the 353 players with at least 500 minutes in the 2017-18 season.

    We're Not Done Yet

The first couple days of free agency have been bananas. But there are still some fairly big names left on the board.

Clint Capela (return to Houston seems inevitable), Jabari Parker, Tyreke Evans, Zach LaVine, Jusuf Nurkic, Marcus Smart, Brook Lopez and Kyle Anderson are just a few.

    A Steal for the Jazz

If you sort NBA players by the average of their ranks in seven popular catch-all metrics, Derrick Favors comes in 46th for the 2017-18 season.

Utah gets top run it back with another top-50 player and will still have max cap space next summer if it wants.

    Portland Adds More Shooting

Seth Curry missed all of 2017-18 with an injury, but in the two previous seasons, he averaged 10.5 points and shot 43.2 percent from three. He can be a solid contributor if he's healthy.

    Rumblings...

Lakers fans, writers and self-made capologists are all over the internet right now, trying to sniff out what's next. Are they making room for a Kawhi Leonard trade? Will the Julius Randle signing in New Orleans turn out to be a sign-and-trade that sends Boogie to LA? Still feels like a lot could be on the way to construct LeBron's new team.

    That Was Quick

Just under two hours after the Lakers renounced the free agency rights to Julius Randle, he signs with the New Orleans Pelicans.

If DeMarcus Cousins isn't back, Randle and Davis could make for a dynamic starting frontcourt. Last season, Randle averaged 21.7 points, 10.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists per 36 minutes.
