About the Role:

In this role, you will lead all budgeting, forecasting, reporting and analysis for Bleacher Report.  You will partner closely with Executive Management to help set, monitor and achieve growth strategies.  You will also work closely with Business Operations and Human Resources to manage the ongoing headcount expansion.  You will lead a team of three experienced finance professionals and will report to the VP of Finance for Turner Sports.  This role is based in New York City and will require some travel to both San Francisco and Atlanta.

Responsibilities:

  • Budgeting, Forecasting, Reporting & Analysis
    • Ensure the ongoing accuracy of the rolling two-year forecast
    • Create and submit timely and accurate monthly forecasts and provide insightful reporting to Turner Corporate Finance
    • Lead the annual Budget & Long Range Plan requirements
    • Prepare and present key financial updates including headcount analyses, budget projections, investment initiative analyses, business plans, content greenlight reviews, etc…
  • Establish and Monitor Growth Strategies & Initiatives
    • Work closely with B/R leadership to identify and establish key strategies to drive future growth
    • Create business plans and KPI’s
    • Closely monitor new initiatives and make strategic recommendations to improve performance
    • Partner with Business Operations and HR to establish, manage and monitor all hiring processes and activities
  • Team and Process Leadership
    • Lead the B/R Finance team consisting of three finance professionals with one based in San Francisco, one in New York City and one in Atlanta
    • Create and provide challenging and rewarding opportunities that focus on career growth
    • Direct all forecasting, budgeting and analyses for B/R ensuring accuracy and timeliness

Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate will have adequate experience as a finance leader working closely with senior business leadership
  • The candidate must also have sufficient experience leading teams and processes in corporate finance
  • Excellent communication and presentation ability - able to communicate complex analyses in a simple, yet effective, manner
  • A high degree of comfort working in a face paced industry, company and environment
  • Highly organized and thorough
  • Experience in digital publishing, content creation, sports, and/or social media would all be a plus
  • A good understand of Hyperion, or a similar database, is strongly preferred
  • College degree in a related field is required
  • Post-Graduate degree or certification in a related field is a strong plus
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

About the Role:

Bleacher Report is looking to establish and scale a holistic learning and development program that grows company, team and individual capabilities. The L&D Manager will partner closely with HR and executive leadership to develop the L&D strategy and define short-term and long-term goals. They will be responsible for creating innovative and engaging solutions that support the needs of employees, align with business objectives and reinforce the B/R culture. They will manage all aspects of training and performance improvement programs and establish themselves as a go-to resource for employees and managers alike.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Partner with HR and executive leadership to design and develop training and performance improvement programs that target individual, team and Company goals / needs.
  • Oversee the execution and management of talent development solutions, customizing programs for senior leadership, mid-level managers, and high performing employees as well as functional expertise, e.g. Content, Product, Engineering, Sales, etc. 
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in digital learning trends, training tools and platforms and provide thought leadership in continuously exploring new and innovative approaches. 
  • Oversee training programs and performance improvement projects, develop L&D processes and guidelines, and manage relationships with external partners and vendors as needed.
  • Track and monitor overall effectiveness of L&D solutions delivered; proactively communicate progress and learnings to senior leadership, and work with HR, Ops, Turner, and/or external partners to iterate and improve programs over time.
  • Assist in the development of the Learning & Development annual plan.
  • Partner with senior management and Ops teams to strategize on team-building events, recognition programs, educational and inspirational panels and other opportunities to build and reinforce the culture.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5-7 years work experience in learning & development with exposure and experience with instructional design, content development and delivery, workshop facilitation, workforce performance improvement initiatives, organizational development and change management, and multiple learning solutions (i.e. instructor led, digital, and blended learning).
  • Excellent project management skills including the ability to effectively manage concurrent and competing priorities.
  • Excellent facilitation skills and the ability to manage group dynamics
  • Excellent client relationship and communication skills
  • Effective Organizational Development experience a plus (assessment, design, team development, coaching)
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Effective project management, tracking and organizational skills

The Sr. HR Business Partner is a problem solver who serves as a strategic partner and directs all aspects of human resources initiatives for the client group. 

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Lead cultural change through programs in collaboration with the business with a strong emphasis on performance development.
  • Oversee and implement human resources policies, programs and practices that foster growth, innovation, and organizational effectiveness that align with business strategies in areas including talent acquisition, compensation, learning and development, and performance management. Partners with specialists in these areas.
  • Communicate and inform business of HR initiatives and project manages these efforts.
  • Provide developmental coaching to all levels, and offer creative solutions to business needs.
  • Manage and resolve Employee Relations issues through effective and objective investigation processes, ensuring adherence to appropriate employment laws and Turner/Bleacher Report policies. Will collaborate with our legal team on high level ER issues.
  • Build and maintain strong internal business partnerships. Gain an understanding of business knowledge by participating in client meetings and staying up to date on the industry.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required.  5-8 years related experience as human resources professional, with experience working with and influencing senior executives in a technical startup.  You will have experience consulting clients in training and talent development, high level employee relations, recruiting, and compensation.  Prior supervisory experience required. Business related experience outside of HR desirable. The ideal candidate must be flexible with proven ability to work within tight and fluctuating deadlines. S/he will have the ability to deliver results in a client facing role while providing day-to-day HR support to a dynamic client group.
