ABOUT THE ROLE: 

Bleacher Report is hiring a Designer for our Creative Services & Marketing team who will work cross-functionally to create and execute design-centric needs for various business units. This role will field requests from the sales, experiential, e-comm and marketing teams to deliver consistent visual branding/identity across programs.

Lead Designer, Innovation

B/R is launching an exciting new initiative focused on rethinking what’s possible on social platforms. To make this happen, the Growth team is dedicated to delivering a captivating experience from the moment of sign up to launch. The Growth team works cross-functionally with different teams to identify new and existing opportunities in the user experience that can drive sign up rates, onboard and educate users, and create stronger social connections. To do so, we need a special kind of designer on the Growth team who is curious, passionate, adaptable, and lives at the intersection of balancing user needs with business goals. As a Growth Designer, you can identify user motivations, launch experiments, evaluate data and test results, and use qualitative research methods to validate experiments. 


What You’ll Do?

The Growth Product Designer role on the product design team owns the complete process from definition to launch for our mobile apps, websites, and internal tools. You identify goals/problems and employ a broad set of design tools (e.g. Figma, Sketch, Principle, HTML/CSS) to best solve and communicate. 


In this role, you will:

  • Advocate for the user by creating meaningful experiences for real fans while continually looking for ways to meet business goals.

  • Grow the business by optimizing user flows, design experiments, and create new features. 

  • Help define the strategy with your team, learn from experiment results, and have the ability to adapt.

  • Execute on all phases of the design process—from wireframing and designing visuals to completing engineering handoff.

  • Craft A/B tests and multivariate experiments. Conduct user research/testing to gather qualitative data to inform your decisions.

  • Transform quantitative data and quantitative learnings into informed design decisions. 

  • Collaborate with PMs and engineers to oversee the user experience of the product from conception until launch.

  • Communicate complex ideas, goals, and problems in a way that is accessible even to those unfamiliar with the project.

  • Come to the table with an opinion and a good rationale about your designs.

  • Constantly strive to learn and grow.

  • Create consistent, scalable design solutions across all platforms.

Requirements

  • 6 - 9+ years related design experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Fine Arts, Human Factors, or related field preferred

  • Understanding of HTML and CSS

  • Comfortable working with 3rd party integrations and APIs

  • Strong design portfolio showcasing problem-solving and visual design skills, with examples of growth design

  • Ability to clearly articulate and advocate your design thinking behind your concepts

  • Experience collaborating with PMs and Engineers across the entire product lifecycle 

  • Ability to rapidly ideate and produce multiple UX/UI concepts while considering design across platforms on iOS, Android, and web.

Android Engineer (remote - US based)

What you’ll be building...

Bleacher Report is the premier social sports app, and serves as a destination for millions of fans all over the world to read, watch, listen, and discuss what’s happening in the world of sports. We pride ourselves on delivering a rich fan experience by using the latest and greatest technologies, sweating the small stuff, and continuing to iterate.

How you’ll build it...

We primarily develop in Kotlin, while our app is still mostly in Java. We aren’t afraid to include new OS features and libraries in our apps. We work closely with the engineers writing and maintaining our custom web services when building new features or refactoring old ones. We discuss approaches to problems early and often, review each other’s code, and are open to suggestions.

Required skills...

  • Proficiency in Android app development, with experience using Android SDK and deep understanding of android development. 
  • Minimum 5+ years experience of Android development
  • Proficiency in Kotlin, with a desire to continue learning the ins and outs of the language as it evolves. 
  • Minimum of 6+ months working with Kotlin.
  • Proficiency in Java, especially around interoperability with Kotlin. 
  • Strong understanding of Android multi-threading (RxJava, Kotlin Coroutines).
  • Strong understanding of Android networking and working with web services.
  • Strong debugging skills, including experience using Unit Tests.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills.

Backend Engineer - Elixir

Our Engineering team is composed of cross-functional teams of Android, IOS, Backend, and Frontend Engineers, working closely with Operations and QA specialists. Senior Product Manager

Bleacher Report is one of world's biggest sports media sites with over 70 million monthly readers.   We are the place fans follow their team across web, our 5-star mobile app and our team newsletters. And we're looking for a product manager who has strong consumer sense, quantitative and qualitative analysis skills and is passionate about sports. 
This is a highly collaborative role that will gather research/requirements from organizational stakeholders, guide the user experience and visual design process, manage product development with engineering, and ship products to the world with marketing/PR.
