Community Lead

About the Role:

The Community Lead is responsible for creating engaging content and operating B/R’s official accounts in the mobile app. They are in charge of planning app executions around key tentpole events throughout the sports calendar and assist with developing an overarching community strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a global Community and influencer plan for the B/R app

  • Be the voice of the Community and maintain a tight two-way dialogue between all stakeholders. 

  • React to breaking news and roll out official B/R app accounts. 

  • Plan and schedule Community activations, both during live events and out of events

  • Work with analytics to monitor channel engagement and optimize for Community performance

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of directly applicable experience required

About the Show:

The Animation Studio team is looking for an experienced NYC-based editor for season 4 of The Champions. The Champions is a scripted parody of a reality show that focuses on UEFA’s Champions League. In the series, all 800 of the players and managers participating in the tournament live together in a massive chateau. We incorporate many of the tropes from actual reality shows. What happens on this reality show occurs in parallel to the games of The Champions League, so this is what we imagine they’re doing in their down time.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Running sessions with voice actors and noting best takes 

  • Assembling the audio track for each episode 

  • Selecting music tracks and incorporating them into the audio to help direct visual cues 

  • Sound design

  • Closed captioning 

  • Being mindful of pacing and episode time constraints

  • Export final deliverables 

  • Ability to adapt to changes in production plan/schedules

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum 5 years editing experience

  • Expert in Adobe Premiere Pro and its captioning tools

  • Expert in Adobe Audition 

  • Experience placing music, sound effects, and mixing audio

HoH Social Programmer II

Overview: 

House of Highlights is shaping the conversation around sports. HoH is not just a social account, but a distinct personality that reflects, celebrates and amplifies youth culture. It is not just a social influencer: it actually influences behavior by fueling viral movements, as seen with the #DriveByDunkChallenge, the Running Man Challenge, and many more. What makes HoH so unique? The relatable, personal delivery feels as if @houseofhighlights is having a conversation with you and your friends.


House of Highlights is seeking a social programmer who will work to curate content from multiple sources to post on our social accounts, with a specific focus on Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and potential new platforms. The Social Programmer will primarily be responsible for surfacing, curating, packaging and distributing various types of social content, including captions.


The role will be required to cover live NBA games events throughout the season and will be asked to assist senior level programmers in creating programming plans. An ideal candidate would be described as someone that is a fast learner, hustles like crazy, has ideas and isn’t afraid to share them or push the HoH voice in new exciting directions. Experience operating a successful IG or Twitter account is huge. 

Major duties and responsibilities
  • Discover and curate social content that aligns with the House of Highlight brand pillars and engages with the Gen Z audience

  • Work closely with other programmers to check copy and properly distribute content

  • Collaborate with fellow BR programming groups to align on voice, ensure differentiation and share learnings 

  • Review the performance of distribution plans and provide meaningful feedback, both qualitative and quantitative


Requirements

  • A strong understanding of House of Highlights’ voice and brand

Quality Editor

B/R is seeking a quality editor to review content (text, video, social) for placement in high-profile programming channels, such as the site’s home page, the B/R app and major social platforms.

Quality editors are responsible for reviewing all content bound for these channels, assuring the highest quality in regard to brand reputation, analytical arguments, factual/statistical support, copy editing, multimedia elements and formatting prior to approval.

Quality editors must also communicate efficiently and effectively across teams to field requests and fix substantive issues. Successful candidates will possess the right balance of sports expertise, prior editing experience, familiarity with established editorial standards and practices, exceptional communication skills, and dedication to the team's mission to grow and protect the site. All candidates will have to pass an editing test to be considered for an interview.

This is a full-time, long-term position requiring a flexible work schedule, including the ability and willingness to work nights and weekends. Proximity to the Bleacher Report offices in New York City or San Francisco is preferred but not required, as work on nights and weekends would most likely be performed from home.

We are looking for an experienced, NYC-based Senior Producer to join Playmaker at Bleacher Report. Playmaker brings Bleacher Report's industry-leading voice and distribution strategy to brand partners. The Senior Producer will be responsible for directing and producing top-level productions as well as mentoring younger producers. About The Role

The Social Producer for the Social Moments Real Time team will be responsible for managing the day-to-day coverage of all of the teams real-time, high-level content executions. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Leading teams of editors, designers to help shape content to match creative vision

  • Contributing ideas for day-to-day creation of content

  • Spending time working with illustrators, animators and other independent contractors to create engaging content for the most important moments in sports

The Social Stories team is looking for an experienced, dedicated NYC-based Producer to create videos for our social channels that cover a variety of sports as well as sports culture. We work in a fast-paced, 24-7 field in a laid-back environment. You'll be in a role that allows you to work with multiple groups and networks. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Pitch, plan and produce multiple videos each week for B/R’s social platforms
  • Research story ideas and find supporting information efficiently

We are looking for a Video Editor to be an integral part of House of Highlights team, specifically focusing on back-end editing for original content projects. Other responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Assisting the entire video team on story planning, pitch process, and new segments.
  • Graphic and photo organization, edit with Photoshop
  • Performing heavy editing work, compiling notes and doing string outs to guide content through the back end of production.

Episodes are approximately 4 minutes long and distributed on the BR app as well as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube. Writers of the series are well versed in soccer, the internet, and comedy. 

The premise of The Champions is that the players and managers all live together in a giant Bachelor style mansion in between games. It loosely parodies and incorporates tropes from several reality shows, most closely spoofing The Real Housewives franchise. What happens to them on and off the field is reflected in the storylines of the house, but because an episode takes approximately six weeks from writing to animation, the premise of each episode is built to be fairly evergreen. More topical jokes are incorporated when feasible, typically through the use of taglines and easter eggs in the backgrounds. Players are given exaggerated attributes, and storylines are told through metaphors.

Requirements

You can write your submission in whatever program you prefer, but please submit it as a PDF. It is very important that your name, email, phone number - any identifying information - is listed on the cover page (part 1) ONLY. This is because we will be removing the cover pages and reading all submissions blind.

Contents

  1. Please include a brief cover letter, your contact info, as well as links to anything you’ve worked on that you’re proud of and would like to share. Keep this on a separate page as it will not be read along with your writing samples. Resumes are welcome, but not required.

  2. Write 3 short pitches for potential Champions episodes. These can be written out in paragraph form or with bullet points, whatever is best to get your point across.

  3. Write 1 script for The Champions. Format your script however you are comfortable, just make sure it is internally consistent and easy to understand. It should be approximately 6 pages long. 

  4. Submit 2 pieces of writing you have done previously. They can be sketches, short stories, listicles. Anything that shows off your personal sense of humor.
