About the role...

The Animation Studio team is looking for writers for season four of The Champions. The Champions is a scripted comedic animated series featuring caricature versions of the players and managers of the Champions League. Episodes are approximately 4 minutes long and distributed on the BR app as well as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube. Writers of the series are well versed in soccer, the internet, and comedy.

The premise of The Champions is that the players and managers all live together in a giant Bachelor style mansion in between games. It loosely parodies and incorporates tropes from several reality shows, most closely spoofing The Real Housewives franchise. What happens to them on and off the field is reflected in the storylines of the house, but because an episode takes approximately six weeks from writing to animation, the premise of each episode is built to be fairly evergreen. More topical jokes are incorporated when feasible, typically through the use of taglines and easter eggs in the backgrounds. Players are given exaggerated attributes, and storylines are told through metaphors.
