The Best 2012 NFL Pro Bowl Candidate from Each NFL Roster

Ryan AlfieriDec 24, 2011

Not every team will have a player represent them in the Pro Bowl, but every team has a player that at least deserves to go.

Whether it be the Indianapolis Colts or the Green Bay Packers, every team has a player that contributes enough to his respective team to get a chance to go to Hawaii.

Keep in mind that this is for the Pro Bowl, which means I take into account the competition each player has at his respective position.

Let's take a look at the best Pro Bowl candidate from each NFL roster.

Green Bay Packers: Aaron Rodgers

1 of 32

Rodgers has been playing better than any other quarterback in NFL history. Enough said.

Chicago Bears: Matt Forte

2 of 32

Jay Cutler may be more valuable to the Bears, but when talking about a Pro Bowl race, Forte is a shoe-in.

Cutler has no chance of getting in over Rodgers, Drew Brees and Eli Manning.

Minnesota Vikings: Adrian Peterson

3 of 32

Adrian Peterson is still the best back in football. Despite his injury, which cost him a few games, he is a shoe-in.

Detroit Lions: Calvin Johnson

4 of 32

He is the best receiver in the game and has single-handedly won the Lions several games this season.

Ndamukong Suh will make it, too, but he doesn't deserve it.

Baltimore Ravens: Terrell Suggs

5 of 32

Suggs is having a DPOY-type season.

The best defender on one of the league's best defenses, Suggs is an easy pick to go to Hawaii.

Pittsburgh Steelers: Ben Roethlisberger

6 of 32

In a weak year for AFC quarterbacks, Roethlisberger gets in easily. He is having his best season as a passer.

Cleveland Browns: Joe Haden

7 of 32

Haden has emerged as one of the best corners in the league, but being on the Browns doesn't exactly help his exposure. He is the best player in Cleveland.

Cincinnati Bengals: A.J. Green

8 of 32

Green has proven that he is the best receiver to come out of the 2011 draft and deserves a berth in the Pro Bowl.

San Francisco 49ers: Justin Smith

9 of 32

Justin Smith is finally getting some well-deserved recognition this year. He's one of the best defenders in football, and it would be a travesty if he does not get a berth.

Seattle Seahawks: Marshawn Lynch

10 of 32

Lynch has been the driving force behind the Seahawks offense and has emerged as one of the best backs in football.

Arizona Cardinals: Patrick Peterson

11 of 32

Peterson is getting in due to his return ability, although he has improved greatly as a corner as the year has progressed.

St. Louis Rams: Chris Long

12 of 32

St. Louis has been putrid, but don't blame Long. He is having his best season yet as a Ram.

Denver Broncos: Von Miller

13 of 32

Forget Tim Tebow for a second. Von Miller is the best player on the Broncos and one of the best pass-rushers in football.

Oakland Raiders: Richard Seymour

14 of 32

If Darren McFadden were never injured, he would be the obvious choice. But I'll give it to their best defender instead, simply because no one else really deserves it.

Kansas City Chiefs: Tamba Hali

15 of 32

The big contract he signed in the offseason has not gone to his head. Hali is still one of the most disruptive forces in the AFC.

San Diego Chargers: Philip Rivers

16 of 32

Rivers has certainly had a weird season, but his late surge should push him up ballots in what is a weak year for AFC quarterbacks.

Houston Texans: Arian Foster

17 of 32

The Texans can't rely on the health of their quarterbacks and Andre Johnson, but Arian Foster and the running game have carried Houston to a division title.

Jacksonville Jaguars: Maurice Jones-Drew

18 of 32

How MJD continues to produce when everyone in the stadium knows he is getting the ball is just amazing. He is the only reason the Jaguars ever move the ball on offense.

Tennessee Titans: Michael Roos

19 of 32

I'm not sure if anyone from Tennessee makes the Pro Bowl, just because they don't have a lot of stars. I gave it to Roos because he is their best offensive lineman and one of their most consistent players.

Indianapolis Colts: Dwight Freeney

20 of 32

I give Freeney a lot of credit for continuing to produce under this year's circumstances. When you're always behind and in a lot of blowouts, it can be tough to find the motivation to produce, especially when you are an established player.

New Orleans Saints: Drew Brees

21 of 32

This guy is about to break Dan Marino's single-season passing record. That's probably worth a Pro Bowl selection.

Atlanta Falcons: Michael Turner

22 of 32

I still think he's a bit overrated, but this is about the Pro Bowl, and Turner has the least amount of competition among teammates like Rhoddy White and John Abraham.

Carolina Panthers: Jordan Gross

23 of 32

Cam Newton isn't going to make it with the other guys in front of him, but Jordan Gross will. The play of the Panthers offensive line has been very solid all season long.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Davin Joseph

24 of 32

No one on this team really deserves to go to the Pro Bowl, but Joseph has had a decent enough season to go. He'll get a lot of fan votes because he is one of the more well-known guards, as well.

New York Jets: Darrelle Revis

25 of 32

He's my defensive player of the year and is the most dominant player in football at his position. Shoe-in.

New York Giants: Eli Manning

26 of 32

Eli is the only reason that the Giants sill control their own destiny. He would be an MVP candidate if it weren't for Brees and Rodgers.

Miami Dolphins: Jake Long

27 of 32

He hasn't had his best season, but his name recognition should get him a spot. He has improved as the season has progressed.

Buffalo Bills: Fred Jackson

28 of 32

His missed time due to injury will hurt him a bit, but his play earlier in the season should earn him a spot.

After his injury, the Bills have struggled to maintain any kind of balance on offense.

New England Patriots: Tom Brady

29 of 32

Remember when we were all talking about the demise of Tom Brady after the Pats lost two games in a row? Boy, were we ignorant and foolish back then.

Washington Redskins: Brian Orakpo

30 of 32

The Redskins have been pretty solid on defense this year, and most of that can be attributed to Brian Orakpo and his pass-rushing ability.

Philadelphia Eagles: LeSean McCoy

31 of 32

McCoy has shattered Eagles franchise records in terms of touchdowns this season. He is Philadelphia's most explosive player and the most elusive back in the NFL.

You can make a strong case for him being the best back in football.

Dallas Cowboys: DeMarcus Ware

32 of 32

Until his recent injury, Ware had a legitimate chance to break the single-season sack record. Behind Revis, he is the best defensive player in football.
