The San Diego Chargers have a huge game against the Detroit Lions looming on Saturday, but they may have to tackle it without the services of star wide receiver Vincent Jackson.
Jackson is currently dealing with a groin injury, and the latest word around the campfire is that it has been more troublesome than the Chargers had hoped for.

Update: Friday, Dec. 23 at 2:25 p.m. ET by Zachary D. Rymer
As I mentioned above, it doesn't sound very good for Jackson. Via Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune, here's the latest news:
If you're relying on Jackson to win your fantasy championship or advance your further in your fantasy playoffs, you may want to consider other options. Groin injuries are no joke, and Jackson's sounds like its legit.
Which is a shame. The Lions have given up a ton of points to wide receivers this season, and Jackson is the kind of guy who can carry a fantasy team on a good day. He's inconsistent, but he's nothing if not explosive.
Of course, the Chargers will miss Jackson too if he has to sit this one out. They're fighting for their playoff lives, and they're going to need as many offensive weapons as they can get if they want to keep up with Matthew Stafford and Detroit's offense.
We likely won't know anything for sure until Saturday. Stay tuned for updates.
