Real Madrid Come Knocking at Arsene Wenger's Door Yet Again
I woke up this morning full of excitement, like it was Christmas morning. Except I wasn't waiting to see what presents Santa Claus left under the tree, I was waiting to see if Arsene Wenger had decided to shock us all by signing a player on the stroke of midnight.
No surprise in saying that nothing happened.
Then I decided I might as well have a look at the rumours, a sneak peak at player number one million, fifty-five thousand, four hundred and one that Arsenal have been linked with recently.

But the first rumour wasn't about a player, alas it was about our manager.
For the fourth time since Arsene Wenger has arrived in London, Real Madrid have made an official bid to take away Le Boss. This time he has been offered a contract worth in excess of £25million—plus a few more bob onto that if he can persuade Cesc Fabregas to get on the plane with him.
First off I would like to say a piece about Real Madrid.
I don't like Real Madrid, in fact I HATE Real Madrid. There is nothing good about the club. I never celebrated or applauded one single trophy they have ever won.
I may be a die hard Gooner but I stood and applauded when Ryan Giggs collected the Champions League trophy last season. Giggs is a great player and a great servant to the game as is Sir Alex Ferguson. No shame in applauding the better team now is there?
Real Madrid—sorry to all the fans but I don't even like saying it. The manner by the way this club have always conducted themselves is horrific and nothing at all sporting about it.
They do and have always considered themselves as better than everyone else, as above the laws of everything. They bend and twist laws because they have the money to do so. UEFA seem afraid of them.
Take their conduct during the summer when they hounded Ronaldo. I for one didn't blame the player, he is a young man being offered a giant paypacket.
Where were the UEFA sanctions? Nowhere!
I applauded how Sir Alex dealt with the issue and I applauded him yet again when he said he "wouldn't sell that mob a virus".
Which brings me back to Arsene Wenger. For years Real Madrid have hounded him to become their next manager and every time he has shut the door in their face.
To Real Madrid I say this:
"Sod the hell off! We went off into some corner of Japan and found him so sod off and find your own Arsene Wenger. Stop thinking you can buy everything and anything you want. Here's a thought, find and create your own talent instead of buying someone else's."
Arsene Wenger owes us Arsenal fans a Champions League trophy.
Yes he has probably been the best manager we have ever had. He has won us doubles, leagues, FA Cups, legions of fans, and brought us sexy football.
But just as he has been loyal to us, we have been loyal to him. We have watched the last number of years as he operated "project youth". We have watched as he has let some of our beloved players leave simply because they were over 30. We have stood by him and defended his many comments to the media. We have threatened bloody murder against those fans of other clubs who have chanted vile names at him.
This season has been more testing that most. It is becoming a bit tiresome listening to him say the Alex Song is the future of Arsenal when he has yet to master kicking the football to a teammate.
We have let our discontent been known but that is all it is, discontent!
I think I speak for most Arsenal fans when I say this to Arsene Wenger:
"We don't hate you, we adore you. We don't want you to leave, we want you to stay and win the trophies and become the team you have promised us. We are not trying to hound you out, we want you to steady the ship and point it in the right direct."
Basically "We want YOU, Arsene Wenger to sort out things at Arsenal, not some mercenary manager coming in trying to change things around".
But Arsene, if you leave for Real Madrid you will be nothing more to them than some mercenary manager. You will not be given the opportunity to leave a legacy like you can at Arsenal. If you go to Real Madrid and things don't work out quickly, you will be on the managerial scrapheap.
Just ask Fabio Capello how this club operate, he couldn't win a trophy for being sacked.
The time will come when Arsene Wenger has to move on and when it does, Gooners will arise as one to stand and applaud and wish him the very best.
But don't let the club be Real Madrid because then you will have become what you have always said you have hated. Players who break contracts at the sight of a bigger paypacket.
So just once more as Real Madrid knock on your door, open it, smile, and then slam it in their faces.
Arsenal is slightly broken at the moment—Gunners want our professor to fix it.
