NFL Predictions: Tom Brady and Stars That Will Explode

Andrew KulhaDec 17, 2011

It's a great week to be Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers. That being said, when isn't it a great week to be Brady or Rodgers?

They are two of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, and both have put themselves in the conversation of the all-time best.

Brady is obviously there. He's amassed 39,017 yards, 294 touchdowns, and three Super Bowl wins in his illustrious career, and he's not even done yet.

Rodgers is still young, but he's well on his way.

Since the daunting task of taking over the quarterback duties from Green Bay Packers' legend Brett Favre, Rodgers has thrown for 16,848 yards, 126 touchdowns, and won one Super Bowl in just four years.

He's now putting up what many consider to be one of the best years of all-time, going 305-of-438 for 4,125 yards, 39 touchdowns, and only six interceptions to fuel the Packers' 13-0 start.

Brady and Rodgers are simply the best, and I expect they will both have great outings this weekend.

These stars are ready to explode this week in the NFL:

Tom Brady, QB New England Patriots

Brady matches up this weekend at the Denver Broncos, who are riding a six-game winning streak.

Many people think Tim Tebow can't be stopped and that beating Brady & Co. will be the next chapter of his indescribable season. I don't see Brady buying into that hype.

The Broncos only give up 232.9 yards per game through the air, but they haven't faced an offense like the Patriots.  The Patriots simply have too many options for Brady, including WR Wes Welker and TE Rob Gronkowski (15 touchdowns).

I don't think the Broncos will be able to keep up.

Aaron Rodgers, QB Green Bay Packers

Rodgers' unbelievable season is well documented. You've seen his stats, and in theory there's no reason to believe that the 5-8 Kansas City Chiefs will be able to slow him down.

On paper the Chiefs only allow 209.3 pass yards a game, but that number has to be thrown out the window when trying to defend Jordy Nelson, Jermichael Finley, Donald Driver, and James Jones.

Just look at the year Rodgers is having so far and try to dispute this.

Even without Greg Jennings, Rodgers is going to go off.

Arian Foster, RB Houston Texans

The Texans have wrapped up their first ever playoff berth, but they still have to finish out the season on a strong note.

This team is banged up and relying on rookie quarterback T.J. Yates.

While Yates is doing an adequate job, the brunt of the responsibility is going to have to fall on superstar running back Arian Foster. That bodes well well against the Panthers this weekend.

Carolina is allowing an abysmal 128.9 yards rushing yards per game, which means Foster is going to have a great opportunity to improve on his 957 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground so far this season.

Expect Foster to have a huge game.
