2011 NFL MVP Race: Ranking the Top 3 Candidates
Barring some unforeseen Space Jam-esque draining of his talents, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will win the 2011 NFL MVP award.
Doesn't he deserve it?
I think so.
Just because the "race" is essentially already finished, doesn't mean I shouldn't peg the other worthy candidates.
Being considered for the MVP award is quite the honor, too.
Aaron Rodgers
1 of 3I'll keep it brief with the eventual winner, I promise.
The guy is playing the quarterback position better than we've ever seen.
He's completing nearly 70 percent of his passes has a ridiculous 39 touchdowns to only six interceptions.
He throws to all of his pass-catchers.
No, seriously.
Officially, 15 different Packers have caught passes from Rodgers this season.
Unreal.
Tom Brady
2 of 3I don't know how many votes Brady ultimately receives, but he definitely deserves some.
Without him, the Patriots are fighting for a wild card spot right now.
Their defense, especially the secondary, is extremely susceptible and the offensive line isn't as stout as it has been in year's past.
He's got 33 touchdowns, 11 interceptions and has thrown for 4,273 yards through 13 games.
Drew Brees
3 of 3Yes, Brees deserves votes, too.
His defense hasn't put him in the nearly the amount of tough situations as Brady's has, but he's had to put the team on his back on more than one occasion.
Another 70-plus completion percentage that isn't afraid to throw the ball down the field.
He gets it done with tremendous football IQ, a lightning-quick delivery and laser-like accuracy.
Brees has eerily similar numbers to that of Brady and both frequently look for their ultra-talented tight ends.
The heartbeat of the Saints offense has 32 touchdowns, 11 interceptions and has thrown for an epic 4,368 yards.
Bye, bye Dan Marino's single-season passing yards record.
