Excuse Me, Idiots of the NFL: I Have a Question
OK, here we go. I am sitting at home and watching football all day yesterday. I saw some great games, too. But the "Wind Bowl" between the Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots seemed to be where I stayed the most time.
I am a Patriots fan; this much is true. But I saw that they won yesterday. And being a fan and seeing what they went through losing key players throughout the year, it meant a lot.
They lost Tom Brady in the first game and looked to be out of the playoffs this season. But then they came back, led by the unlikely Matt Cassell, and began looking like the Patriots of old again.

And, as I mentioned, they won yesterday. And that brought their win count to 11 games. But they were bumped out of the NFL playoffs, missing it for the first time since 2002.
Now, usually if you hit the nine- or 10-win mark, you have a good chance to get in. But 11 and up is usually the mark that always gets you in. The Pats won and they were out? Are you kidding me, NFL?
You let teams in with nine wins and the Pats are out with 11. I know that the Dolphins won the Division and that is cool. But you gave the wild card spots to teams that didn't deserve it as much.
The Pats won despite the injuries. This was arguably New England coach Bill Belichick's best coaching job ever. He could win Coach of the Year for the year he had. And yet he and the Pats are out?
What gives you the idea that others should get in with fewer wins. Teams in the NFC got in with weird wins, Eagles got in with a tie and only nine wins.
I think what you should do is fix your playoff system. Roger Goodell, this is to you. Put your best teams in the playoffs, not those team that barely won their divisions.
Sure, the Dolphins deserved to get in the playoffs. After the year they had, it was well deserved. But they had 11 wins, too. And only one team from that division got in.
Other teams from different divisions had the same or worse records. It should go to the team with the most wins. Just because they lose their division doesn't mean they should be out.
That is completely stupid. What if they had 12 wins, or if they were in the NFC? They would have gotten in with eight, as the Cardinals did. The better team was the Pats. Please, NFL, go back to the drawing board because you totally screwed up—again.
This may be up there with some of your dumbest stuff ever, and there have been a lot of things.
What do you think, am I right for being upset with the NFL?
