NFL Picks Week 14: Teams That Will Win Easy and Big
There aren't many things more satisfying, encouraging or necessary to a playoff run in the NFL than a easy blowout win during Week 14.
This is the time of the season where the stakes become very high, and everything from home field advantage in the playoffs to divisional titles are on the line.
Playoff races can be very intense, so that's why it's so nice to have an easy win at this point of the season.
For the great teams it could be a chance to rest some starters and check out what kind of depth they have moving into the playoffs, and for teams in the middle of the hunt it can serve as a much needed confidence boost to push onward in the fight.
Here are three teams that should have no trouble winning big and easy Week 14:
Note: In order to determine the size of the potential win, we will be utilizing a "Blowout Potential" scale, with one being the lowest potential and 10 being the highest.
New England Patriots
1 of 3At 9-3 and on top of the AFC East, the Patriots have to feel pretty good coming into their matchup with the 4-8 Washington Redskins.
They score 30.2 points per game compared to the 'Skins 16.8, have the second best yards per game and passing yards per game average at 423.8 and 316.6 respectively, and are easily the far superior team.
The numbers don't lie in this matchup.
The Patriots are riding a four-game winning streak that has seen Tom Brady throw for 1,210 yards, 10 touchdowns and no interceptions.
The Redskins have lost seven out of their last eight games, and I don't see this one helping that average.
Blowout Potential: 8
Green Bay Packers
2 of 3The Green Bay Packers may not lose a game this season, and at 12-0, that becomes more and more of a possibility as every week goes by.
Nobody can stop Aaron Rodgers right now. He's 288-of-408 for 37 touchdowns and only five interceptions, and I can only see him adding to those numbers against the Raiders.
Oakland's defense isn't half-bad, only giving up 231.9 yards per game through the air, but when you break it down, Rodgers has far too many weapons to stop in Greg Jennings, Jordy Nelson, Donald Driver, James Jones and Jermichael Finley.
The Raiders running game is their strength, ranked fourth in the league with 140.6 yards per game, but it's tough to run the ball when you're playing catch-up with the Pack.
The Packers defense is also very opportunistic, which will be a problem for Raiders quarterback Carson Palmer, who has thrown three interceptions in the past four games.
He may be able to put up some yards and even some points up against the Pack, but I wouldn't be surprised if they force a turnover or two, which is deadly against a team of their caliber.
Blowout Potential: 6.5
Baltimore Ravens
3 of 3It's tough to transition from the best team in the league, to the complete opposite in the Indianapolis Colts.
At 0-12 the Colts may not even win a game this season, and to be frank, they have an extremely unrealistic shot to beat the Ravens on the road.
At 9-3 the Ravens are undefeated at home and are riding a three-game win streak that saw them beat up on the Bengals, 49ers and Browns.
Their defense is as intimidating as ever, giving up only 198.6 pass yards and 88.8 rushing yards per game, and when compared to the 194.1 passing yards and 99 rushing yards the Colts average per game, I think we're looking at quite a beat down.
Blowout Potential: 9.5
