End of The World!!! Or Is It??

Well ya'll the end of the world is near!!  Not really, just the end of football season.  Though if you care enough it could be the same thing.  After Jan. 2nd 2009 that's it!  What in the world will we have to live for then?

I'm not sure about other colleges but Alabama doesn't have it's A-Day game until the spring and from Jan 2nd to then seems like a blooming eternity.  All there is to do is discuss who gets what top recruit.  Well, that and what kind of programs LSU, Tennessee and Mississippi State will have in 2009. 

Kick off isn't until September 5th for the Tide. Try going from April to September without any Alabama Football. I might possibly go mad.

And yes, I know other sports exist.  I've never been interested in tennis as it gives me a headache from trying to follow that ball back and forth. And I know it's un-Southern but (gasp) NASCAR just doesn't "do it" for me either.  It makes me dizzy and it's not exciting unless someone crashes and that's a terrible thing to ask for.

Golf is fine but I'd rather play it than watch it. Not to mention, it's too cold for golf.   I've thought about fishing but I'm NOT putting my hands, softened by Clinique, on one of those disgusting, slimy things. Baseball, soccer, hockey-YAWN!!  I'd rather just take a nap than waste my time that way!

Yes, I have a family but there's only so many times we can sit and brush a Bratz dolls hair or watch a Disney movie.  And I guess there is always cleaning house or taking care of my husband...if I must.  Can you tell my Dad influenced me more? 

It's just the excitement of Saturday Gameday!! Talking about the game during the days leading up to it.  Watching it with friends and trash talking the other team.  You know during the course of the game somebody is gonna get drunk and 

A. Act a fool- Yeah. You know that fool I'm talking about. Yelling and screaming all the wrong things.

B. Get in a fight- Hey, when you combine alcohol, football, and people that care more about this team than their families it's going to happen. 

C. Get in a fight and act a fool. 

Those are the days!!  And then those weekends when you get to spend time with people you normally don't get to spend time with. Just cheering on your team as if you are one of the players.

Some people try to say that this kinda behavior only goes on here in the South but I've spent some time up north, unwillingly, and I'd have to say that it's just as bad.  Or good depending on how you look at it!!  But I'd say that it's way more fun here!! 

So to all my fellow Alabama fans and you other poor mortals, here's to 2009 College Football Gameday!!  Roll Tide!!
