Week 14 Fantasy Football Rankings: Rating the Week's 5 Best TEs

Zach KruseDec 9, 2011

The following tight ends, in order, are the top five at the position in our Week 14 fantasy football rankings:

Jimmy Graham, Saints

I give Graham the slight edge over Gronkowski on the simple fact that the Titans are giving up the seventh-most fantasy points to tight ends this season, while the Redskins (Gronk's matchup) are middle of the pack. Both see plenty of targets, especially in the red zone. Over his last three games, Graham has over 250 yards and three scores.

Rob Gronkowski, Patriots

The matchup for Gronkowski isn't all that bad, and there's really been no type of defense that he hasn't roasted at one point or another this season. It's almost mind-boggling to see that Gronkowski has nine total touchdowns over his last five games, but that's how productive he's been at getting into the end zone over the last month or so. You can start the big guy with absolute confidence every week.

Brandon Pettigrew, Lions

It's probably lucky that Pettigrew is even playing on Sunday after he pushed an official, but the fact is that he has the opportunity to take advantage of a big-time mismatch in the Vikings secondary. That unit has been shredded in recent weeks, and Pettigrew has come into his own as a receiving tight end. There's the potential for big fantasy points for Pettigrew in this matchup.

Jermichael Finley, Packers

Despite 87 yards and a touchdown against the Giants, Finley has been somewhat of an unknown so far this season. Some games he's a big part of the Packers offense, other times defenses focus in on him heavily. We're banking on him showing up for the second straight week against Oakland.

Jason Witten, Cowboys

Witten hasn't been a big scorer this season, mostly due to the fact that he's scored just five touchdowns. A matchup with the Giants this weekend could solve those scoring woes. Over the past five games, New York has allowed six receiving touchdowns to tight ends.
