8 Biggest Me-First Players in the NFL Today
There's always going to be that guy, that one guy that has a me-first attitude. That one guy that thinks he is the center of the universe, that guy that wants all the attention and is just screaming, "Look at me."
There are tons of them in professional sports, with a large handful of them playing in the NFL. Over the years, we have seen guys like Terrell Owens, Randy Moss and Michael Irvin that are just so egocentric—kind of funny how they're all wide receivers, right?
With that being said, allow me to introduce to the eight biggest me-first players in the NFL today. Keep in mind that these players are being labeled "me-first" for their recent behavior.
Enjoy!
James Harrison
1 of 8You simply can't go around blasting the NFL commissioner by calling him the "devil," and you can't go around insulting your own quarterback—it just doesn't work that way in the NFL.
James Harrison is, without question, one of the most egocentric players in the league today. It is all about him—or at least in his mind.
Oh, and by the way: Harrison has been fined time and time again for illegal hits. Sometimes you just don't get it.
Stevie Johnson
2 of 8Stevie Johnson really hasn't done anything that bad, but you can tell that he's just another self-absorbed prima donna of a wide receiver.
It all started a few weeks ago when Johnson mocked Plaxico Burress in his touchdown celebration as he pretended to shoot himself in the foot.
Vontae Davis
3 of 8Apparently Vontae Davis is the best cornerback in the league—really? I mean he's good, but far from the best. I believe that title belongs to Darrelle Revis.
Prior to the start of the 2011 season, Davis made this very, very bold statement that he and Sean Smith are the best cornerback tandem in the NFL. Yeah, okay—then why aren't the Miami Dolphins the top defense in the league?
DeSean Jackson
4 of 8DeSean Jackson is such a disappointment. He has all the talent in the world and could be the best wide receiver in the NFL, but his attitude has gotten in the way.
If you have seen Jackson play this season, then you can obviously tell he is so disengaged that it's not even funny. It's like he doesn't even want to be out there.
Do you think that he'll be a Philadelphia Eagle next season? Hell no.
Chris Johnson
5 of 8I really hope that Chris Johnson is enjoying his brand new $55.26 million contract, as he held out all of training camp and the preseason just to get a large chunk of change.
Since then, CJ2K has been far from CJ2K, he's been more like CJJAG—Chris Johnson, just another guy.
Johnson is only averaging 4.1 yards per carry this season, and he's only scored four touchdowns while only having four games with 100 rushing yards or more.
Carson Palmer
6 of 8In this case, things seemed to work out well, as Carson Palmer is now on a potential playoff team with the Oakland Raiders.
Over the years, Palmer posted some impressive numbers with the Cincinnati Bengals, but all of that came to a sudden halt real fast. In fact, Palmer's only threw a pitiful 20 interceptions during his last season in Cincy.
Following the season, Palmer pretty much said that he was done with the Bengals organization and refused to play for them, announcing that he would plan to retire if he was not traded.
Ndamukong Suh
7 of 8I think that it's safe to say that we all know Ndamukong Suh's true colors now after his embarrassing behavior on Thanksgiving, stomping a Green Bay Packers' offensive lineman and recently being involved in a car accident in Portland, Oregon.
Suh is one hell of a force on the defensive front, but he needs to shape up, control his anger and mature in order to live up to his full potential.
Clay Matthews
8 of 8Clay Matthews isn't a bad guy at all, but there's something about his behavior that's screaming, "It's all about me." Whether it's his fair, his sack celebration dance or that he's a reigning Super Bowl champion—he wants all the attention on him, or at least that's what it seems like.
His apparent me-first attitude certainly has yet to affect the Green Bay Packers in a negative way, though, as they remain undefeated in 2011.
