Death Hits Another MMA Star: Justin Eilers Shot Dead

After the surprising deaths of Evan Tanner and Justin Levens, another MMA fighter is added to the group as former UFC star Justin Eilers died on Friday morning at the age of 30 years old.

Eilers was attending a holiday party with relatives when tension began escalating with one of his former girlfriends. Justin Eilers was asked to leave the residence after the incident but protested and began throwing dishes around the house. The owner of the house then pointed a gun at Eilers and shot him once in the chest. Emergency arrived soon after and tried to reanimate him but Eilers was already dead.

The man that shot him is said to be his mother's boyfriend, a 48 year old man named James Robert Malec. Justin's ex-girlfriend, mother, and son were all present when Eilers was shot dead.

Eilers got into MMA thanks to good friend Jens Pulver in 2002. He fought in the WEC, Elite XC, and UFC organizations and battled the likes of Dan Severn, Cabbage, Brandon Vera and Pedro Rizzo.

While in the UFC, Eilers even challenged Andrei Arlovski for the heavyweight championship at UFC 53.

Our hearts go out to the family of Justin Eilers (well the family that didn't shoot him) in this moment of shock and sadness.
