Arsenal News: Gunners Limp into Milan Matchup

Ashish WesleyFeb 16, 2008

Well that's exactly how many players we have to choose from in the FA cup game against the Manky Shite!!

This is the complete list of players we have out-Johan Djourou (groin), Robin van Persie (thigh), Abou Diaby (calf), Manuel Almunia (sick), Denilson (hamstring), Tomas Rosicky (hamstring), Theo Walcott (thigh), Clichy (hamstring), Alex Song (muscular), Bacary Sagna (personal reasons), Emmanuel Adebayor (muscular) and Philippe Senderos (knee/thigh).

The list speaks for itself, do I even have to comment on this?

Speaking about the injury situation, Arsene said-

"We have a few players who are on the edge,"

"We are down to the bare bones. We have just 14 players and everyone will travel then I will make a decision."

As you can expect, its the injury story that is hogging all the limelight today. However Wenger assures us that he will put out the best team possible in the given situation.

"It will be as strong as possible so we have a good chance to win the game without putting the rest of the season into jeopardy by risking injuries," he said. "But I will have a busy night thinking about what I'll do."

He does have quite a job when on hand while keeping on eye on the CL clash against Milan midweek. I always thought that Wenger would field a slightly weakened side against the Manky Bunch with a view on the upcoming big games . Looks like he now has his hands tied up pretty much.

I'm a big fan of the FA Cup, the romance surrounding it is unmatched by any other competition the world over. However, it is my opinion that with the 3 competitions we are in the running for, Arsene will prioritize in favour of the Premiership and the CL. I just feel that the Prem. will be very high on Le Gaffers list this season. If we do indeed win the Premiership, I think we can truly announce to the world that Arsenes third gen has definitely come of age. An FA cup win, does not necessarily put our name in lights quite like a Premiership crown.

So then that explains why I will be no where as gutted if we do lose the game today, as long as it is not demoralising. It could well be a confidence booster ahead of the run -in with the premiership, but a loss today is not the end of the world. It will therefore come as no surprise to you lot that I'm one of those folks who believes that if we do go out of the FA cup today, it will put us in a better situation to reclaim the premiership, as we will have only 2 competitions to concentrate on, while Manure will have 3. Ok , there I go sounding negative, will quit it now. I don't expect going in to this game expecting to get beat. The players we do have fit can still do it, no matter how bad ManUSA wants to win or how focused they are and such shite.

In other news Wenger has not taken too kindly to Sepp Blatter's criticism on the foreign round in the Premiership. Have said my bit already on the 39th game so won't get into this again. Wenger has also rubbished claims of an new contract for Cescy and its all here

Also Usmanov, remember him has increased his share holding at arsenal FC to 24 percent. More on this later on in the week.

The Daily Mail a takes a trip back in time to dig up the best Arsenal-Manchester United FA Cup clashes.

And that's about all I have for you today. So here's to progressing in the FA cup, proving a point and gaining a bit of psychological edge in the premiership.

Come on you Gunners!!!
