New York Jets-Miami Fins: All We Want for Christmas is a Playoff Berth
Dear Santa,
We know Christmas just passed but we were hoping that you left us one last present somewhere under our tree. We're sure you already know this since you seem to be on top of everything, but on Sunday we have a pivotal game against our rivals the Miami Dolphins.
To make matters worse it's the return of our former QB Chad Pennington who signed with the team after our acquisition of the little engine that still can in Brett Favre.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
After our fourth consecutive debacle on the west coast, we have seen our division lead fall from our grasp to the fish and Patriots and now our playoff hopes rely on other teams. We know we have been very naughty this year especially when it comes to our pass rush and secondary but we are hoping that you over look the bad.
In all fairness Santa, we were the first team to give the Titans their first loss of the year and not to mention we have a record high seven players going to this year's Pro Bowl. Plus we went to New England of all places and came away with victory.
Who can forget our five game winning streak? Or our impressive routs of the Cardinals and Rams? The Cards are the NFC West Division Champs for Pete's Sake!
We know what we face an opponent that is on the cusp of becoming the first team to go to the playoffs after a 1-15 record from their previous season. We know that their statistically better than us in offense, passing, and defense but we just need some belated Christmas spirit to help us.
Actually Santa, we feel we are more than capable of beating these guys since they haven't won in our house in 2003. What we really need is a loss from either the Patriots or Ravens.
Now granted they are playing the Bills (7-8) and Jags (5-10) respectively but we could really use a Christmas miracle since they too are hoping for the second season. We know you probably only allow some miracles to happen and some say our win against the Bills two weeks ago was exactly that but we really need this one.
Think about our fans, we have shown them our best and worst this year and what better way to make up for it than our first playoff berth since 2006 and maybe even our first division crow since 2002? At this point we will be grateful for either of those to become a reality come Sunday.
We know we had control of our own destiny even though a destiny is already predetermined and we are hoping that one special gift that we all wanted at the start of this season to be there this week. Why not end this season on a high? We started off on a win so why not end it with a win and then some?
So please Santa we know you're listening and that you're real because we saw you at the game last week. Let us have our one shot at redemption.
Yours,
The 2008 New York Jets
