Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Gonzalez is currently riding a 5 game streak of 10+ fantasy points. The closest any other tight is to that is Dallas Clark with a two game streak. If you've been lucky enough to own Gonzalez this season, you know, without a doubt, that he's going to be in your line-up for the season finale, so let's move on.
Point Projection: 16 points
--------------------
2. Antonio Gates (San Diego Chargers) vs. Denver
In a must win for the Chargers in Week 16 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Gates came up big, hauling in two TD passes to finish the day with 16 fantasy points. We think he comes up big yet again for San Diego, hauling in one score to go along with 60 or so yards, the same number of yards he had in the Broncos-Chargers' game in Week Two.
Point Projection: 12 points
--------------------
3. Jason Witten (Dallas Cowboys) @ Philadelphia
One of Witten's two 100+-yard performances came against the Eagles back in Week Two; however, thanks to an ankle injury, don't expect Witten to match that yardage. The good news, though, is that with 60 yards and a score, which the Bruno Boys are projecting for the tight end, Witten will actually tally more fantasy points this go around (12) than that Week Two game (11).
Point Projection: 12 points
--------------------
4. John Carlson (Seattle Seahawks) @ Arizona
With seven or more fantasy points in each of his last five games, Carlson is definitely raising his value for 2009, and it wouldn't surprise us to find him among the top five tight ends selected in next year's fantasy drafts.
It also wouldn't surprise us to find Carlson among the top five tight ends this weekend as he battles an Arizona team that has allowed 34 passing TDs on the year.
Point Projection: 11 points
--------------------
5. Tony Scheffler (Denver Broncos) @ San Diego
Scheffler has two TDs on the year. Both came against the Chargers back in Week Two. While multiple scores don't seem likely, a score and 50 yards for the Broncos' tight end is very realistic, especially when you consider the problems the Chargers have had defending the tight end this season.
Point Projection: 11 points
--------------------
6. Visanthe Shiancoe (Minnesota Vikings) vs. New York Giants
Shiancoe exploded in Week 16 for 25 fantasy points, amassed thanks to seven receptions for 136 yards and two scores. The Vikings' tight end has definitely played his way into an every week start this season. In a season in which depth has been lacking from the tight-end slot, Visanthe has no doubt been a pleasant surprise to his owners.
Point Projection: 11 points
--------------------
7. Owen Daniels (Houston Texans) vs. Chicago
Daniels posted his second 100 yard effort of the season in Week 16, which now means he has just as many 100 yard games as TDs on the year. Still, as long as the Texans' tight end keeps putting up lofty yardage totals, something he should be able to accomplish this week against the Bears and their 28th ranked pass defense, his owners won't mind the lack of quick sixes.
Point Projection: Nine points
