Why the New York Giants Should Sign Anquan Boldin
With Plaxico Burress seemingly in more trouble daily, it seems clear the Giants should—and will—move on with out him next season. For all his talent, his off the field shenanigans have no place in a contending team’s locker room.
The Giants got back on track Sunday night without him, but Plax is an amazing talent. You can’t just replace him with the snap of the finger. It might take draft picks, or a ton of money. But, there’s one receiver out there, available, for the taking, that the Giants would be crazy not to look at.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
His name is Anquan Boldin, receiver for the Cards. He’s the perfect antidote to a Plax-less team.
One of the more talented wide receivers in the league today, Boldin has been said to want out of the Desert. He has a deal through 2010, but that deal only pays him $4 million a year—not top wideout money. If the Cards are unwilling to negotiate, or Boldin wants to get out, the Giants seem like a logical destination.
Despite missing three games, he’s scored 11 TDs, and gained over 1,000 yards. The Giants may be the NFC favorite for the Super Bowl. They did this without a star receiver. Imagine adding Boldin to Hixon, Toomer, and Boss.
It would be a dynasty in the making.
Giving up a first and a third round pick isn’t a tough pill to swallow for an All-Pro talent. Money shouldn’t be an issue; with money coming off the books for Plax, it shouldn’t be hard to pony up the contract Boldin wants.
Sure, the Giants have to re-sign Jacobs, and potentially Ward as well. But I have a feeling they can find some money for Boldin. He’ll be well worth it.
For me, it’s simple: Get Boldin. He doesn’t want to be in Arizona. The Giants don’t want Plax. The Giants need an All-Pro receiver.
Sounds like a perfect match, doesn’t it?
