LSU Football: Jordan Jefferson Will Lead LSU to Win If Jarrett Lee Is Ineligible
Les Miles has plenty of depth on his team. Jordan Jefferson is fully capable of leading the Tigers to victory in the SEC Title game or even the BCS championship.
The biggest concern for Miles should be whether or not his team's attention span is properly balanced. A report has surfaced via CBS Sports that QB Jarrett Lee and others may be academically ineligible for the SEC title game and or the BCS title game. Specifics are unclear at this point.
Jefferson probably should be the starter, but he lost his spot after an off-the-field incident in the offseason. The other positions could be affected, but LSU is so deep they could withstand the hit against Georgia, and possibly Alabama.
Miles seemed to take the news in stride, and said this thing happens around this time of year. I can understand why it would. Being a true student athlete requires a lot of responsibility and focus.
In a championship run, it is easy to see how that focus could wane, especially as the season comes to an end. Even more so in a season so hotly contested.
The show must go on either way. Jefferson and any other Tigers replacement must ready themselves to first face the second-hottest team in the nation in Georgia.
After that, it is likely a rematch with Alabama and strong Heisman candidate Trent Richardson awaits. One thing is for sure, neither the Bulldogs or Tide will feel sorry for the potentially shorthanded Tigers.
