Week 13 Fantasy Rankings: Washington Redskins and More Sleeper Defenses

Michael DixonNov 29, 2011

As is the case every week for those of us who like to stream defenses, the opposing offense is as important as anything.

In the case of all of these teams, the offense they are facing is not reliable. So, the defenses are good to jump on.

The reality of the situation is that the Jets offense is just not very good. Yes, they seem to be improving, but that doesn't mean their opponents aren't good plays.

The Redskins have a strong defense. What they really have going in their favor is a strong pass rush. That will force Mark Sanchez to make quick decisions. If you have the defense going against Sanchez making quick decisions, consider yourself lucky.

That's what I am looking at here. Yes, the Jets will score some points, but not many. In addition to all of that, they're quite likely to turn the ball over a few times.

This is a good play.

San Diego Chargers

All season long, the Jaguars have had a defense that's good to stream against. Even though the Chargers have struggled at times this season, their defense hasn't allowed a lot of points.

When they have allowed points, it's been against offenses that are much better than the one in Jacksonville.

Now, the Jaguars are going to have a new head coach. I don't expect much from their offense in this odd transition week.

Given the turnovers that Philip Rivers makes, the Jacksonville defense isn't a bad play either. But I am calling the Chargers' unit more reliable.

Oakland Raiders

The Raiders are still a little prone to giving up the big play. As a result, they allow some points. But here are a few things to consider.

The Miami Dolphins aren't that good.

Even though they have experienced something of a resurgence in recent weeks, the team opposing Miami is always a decent play.

Also, remember the turnovers.

The Raiders have an aggressive defense. They force turnovers and get sacks. The Dolphins won't score much, so those will make for a huge day.
