New York Jets Predictions: Picks for Every Remaining Game

The New York Jets have been one of the most disappointing story lines of the 2011 season. Third-year quarterback Mark Sanchez has been abysmal as of late, and the heart and soul of the franchise, the defense, has been porous.

@ Washington Redskins

The Jets begin their quest for a playoff berth this Sunday in Washington.

The Redskins have really struggled of late. Led by feeble quarterback Rex Grossman, Washington's offensive unit lacks the weapons to keep defenses off balance.

New York's stifling defensive unit should pick apart a weak core of receivers and running backs, and should keep the Redskins off the scoreboard for the majority of the game.

The Jets offense could struggle at times against an underrated Skins defense, but will eventually break through thanks to a terrific game from powerful running back Shonn Greene.

In the end, New York will manage to stay alive in the playoff race, as they outclass a weak squad to claim their second road win of the season.

Kansas City Chiefs

After a big win over the Redskins, the Jets are gifted with a home game against an injury-ridden Chiefs squad.

Kansas City has been unable to find offensive balance all season long, as they have suffered major injuries to their starting quarterback and star running back.

The addition of veteran signal-caller Kyle Orton will provide a spark for the struggling offensive unit, but the lack of a consistent run game will end up costing them against a vaunted New York defense.

The Eagles have been the most inconsistent team in football this year, as they have had impressive wins over strong teams such as the Cowboys and Giants, as well as shocking losses to weak teams such as the Bills and the Cardinals.

Even though they possess one of the most talented squads in football, Philadelphia has been doomed by under performing stars and key injuries.

The Jets will be confident after a string of spectacular victories, but the inconsistent play of the offense and defense will end up being the downfall for Gang Green.

New York simply does not possess enough speed and strength on either side of the ball to compete with an explosive team like the Eagles.

Mark Sanchez and company will take a heartbreaking loss that could significantly damage their playoff hopes.

Eagles 33, Jets 24

New York Giants

After a tough road loss to the explosive Eagles, the 8-6 Jets head home to play huge game with their inner city rival Giants.

This game will be one of the most anticipated of the season, as both teams will be vying for postseason spots, while also competing for Big Apple supremacy.

Eli Manning has improved his game significantly, and is rapidly turned into one of the game's elite signal quarterbacks. The rest of the G-men offense has been inconsistent though, as they have suffered a string of devastating injuries, as well as under performing play from their multiple offensive weapons.

The performance of the Giant's injury-prone defense has also varied significantly, as they have looked elite at times, as well as just average.

The Dolphins will provide the Jets with a tough challenge, but with their season on the line, New York will edge out a victory, thanks to a balanced effort from Gotham's imposing secondary and ferocious pass rush.
