NFL Week 13 Predictions: Projecting the Week's Most Explosive Offenses

Chris TrapassoNov 29, 2011

Predicting teams to have offensive explosions hasn't been that difficult this season. It seems like there is a handful of shootouts each week.

After scanning the NFL's Week 13 schedule, my eyes lit up. These four teams should, once again, put up some major offensive numbers.

Get ready for even more offensive fireworks. Gotta love it.

New England Patriots

1 of 4

I wanted to get the most obvious one out of the way.

The Patriots are clicking on offense. They ripped the Jets to shreds a few weeks ago, dismantled the Chiefs last Monday and were at ease all evening against the Eagles in Week 12 en route to their 38-20 victory.

Up next?

The 0-11 Colts at home.

Opposing quarterbacks have averaged a 108.6 rating against Indianapolis this season.

Wow.

Brady, Welker and Co. should be in for an epic day.

Dallas Cowboys

2 of 4

The Dallas Cowboys are on a four-game winning streak and have found great offensive balance thanks to the emergence of third-round draft pick DeMarco Murray.

They head to Arizona to take on a Cardinals team that doesn't exactly have an intimidating defense. Arizona is allowing 250 yards per game through the air, and they're surrendering nearly 125 yards rushing a game.

Rob Ryan's defense should force the Cardinals into many punts, so Tony Romo should get a lot of possessions in this one.

A real confidence builder for Dallas' offense.

New York Giants and Green Bay Packers

3 of 4

These two NFC clubs play each other in Week 13, and it has all the makings of a shootout.

Usually, when I predict a shootout, the game ends up being 13-10, but I'm nearly certain on this one.

The Packers and Giants are very similar clubs. Both have Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks, talented receiving corps, streaky defenses and don't like to run the football all that much.

The Giants love throwing down field, and against the most efficient team in football, they'll use their entire playbook.

Both teams will victimize the opposing defense—mostly via the pass.

I'm all smiles.

New Orleans Saints

Did you watch the Saints on Monday Night Football last night?

A clinic.

Drew Brees is otherworldly at home, and if you put the game at prime time, he can do no wrong.

At least, it seems it that way.

Unless Ndamukong Suh wins his appeal, he won't be in the Lions' lineup when they face New Orleans in the Superdome.

If Brees gets the time he did against the Giants, he'll have another historic night.

You can count on that.
