SEC and Big 12 Lead the Rankings of College Football's FBS Conferences

Well, football fans, it's finally here: the last week of conference play until the BCS Bowls are decided and doled out.

Some teams are sitting pretty on a conference title while others are sweating bullets in the last dwindling days of the season.

Here are the conferences by my count and the top dogs hoping for a chance to duke it out in a a final showdown of the year.

1. SEC

LSU moved one step closer to the BCS Championship game by crushing Arkansas. Only the Georgia Bulldogs stand in the way between the rematch with Alabama.

3. Big 10

Wisconsin won the Leaders Division of the Big 10 by crushing Penn State. Only Michigan State stands in the way of the Badgers playing in the Rose Bowl.

5. ACC

Virginia Tech showed that they just might deserve their No. 5 National Ranking by destroying Virginia 38-0. If they beat Clemson, they will go to a BCS Bowl game.

Notre Dame put up a strong effort against Stanford, but eventually fell 28-14. The Fighting Irish will now have to wait to see what Bowl Game they will be playing in.

Arkansas State clinched the Sun Belt Title by beating Middle Tennessee State 35-19 to wrap up their most successful football season in school history. Only a meaningless game against Troy awaits the Red Wolves.
