WWE: The Miz and Dolph Zigger Are Coming Up Huge on Monday Night Raw

David LevinNov 28, 2011

While Alberto Del Rio is still running around chasing CM Punk for the WWE Title, The Miz and Dolph Ziggler are making a case to be the resident bad boys of Raw and possibly the WWE itself.

In the past two weeks, we have really seen the two former world champions step their game up and sell like they have never sold before. Tonight, we saw Ziggler and Randy Orton in a great match, aided by the ringside agitation of Wade Barrett.

The Miz continued his vicious attack on former friends and teammates by beating John Morrison in what could have been Morrison's last match with the company.

Both have the ability to carry the brand need another strong showing to prove they are the future heels of this company.

Only problem is there is a Mexican Aristocrat in their way, and right now, it appears that ADR will continue to chase WWE gold.

This might actually be the best time for both performers to show their best. As in the past, Miz has headlined WrestleMania, and Ziggler has claimed the World Title. They need these matches to line themselves up for title contention in April.

Other issues with those two scenarios that Punk may not be champion at the time, and R-Truth may have a say in the future of The Miz after the assault last week which was really a disguise for his alleged drug suspension.

Ziggler's match was not as honed as the one last week with CM Punk, but it did show that the United States Champion is a true player in the quest for higher gold. He has gotten better since his match with John Morrison at Survivor Series.

Miz needed to beak away from his alliance with Truth, although one of the best ever conceived in the WWE in order to have a chance to take back the title that was once his.

Right now may be the best the creative team in the WWE has looked in months. Ziggler and Miz are rising. Punk has the WWE Title. Mark Henry is now being chased by Daniel Bryan for his World Title, and John Cena and The Rock are still bitching back and forth about the upcoming WrestleMania match.

And while all this goes on, we are awaiting the return of Kane, Undertaker and possibly another star or two from the past (Chris Jericho?). Randy Orton and Wade Barrett look to be a solid feud, and Sheamus has his sights set on Jack Swagger, which to me is dead weight.

The way to have this mount is to build from it, thrive on it and see if the two superstars can sustain it.

The impact will be felt as the buildup to WrestleMania continues.
