BCS Rankings: Georgia vs. LSU and the Most Important Games of Week 14
The BCS picture continues to become more clear with each passing week. There are still a handful of important games on the Week 14 slate that can shake up the landscape, though.
Here are early predictions for each of the weekend's marquee clashes.
SEC Championship—No 14. Georgia vs. No. 1 LSU
Georgia enters the title game on quite a roll. The Bulldogs have picked up 10 straight wins, including a convincing road win over Georgia Tech on Saturday. It would take a herculean effort, but if they ever upset LSU, it would send the BCS into chaos.
It's hard to imagine that happening, though, because the Tigers have been nearly flawless all season. Coach Les Miles has said his team will treat this game with the same care as the previous 12 despite some analysts saying LSU will be national title-bound regardless of the result.
Prediction: LSU by 17
Big Ten Championship—No. 15 Wisconsin vs. No. 13 Michigan State
The Badgers righted their ship after back-to-back losses against Michigan State and Ohio State in late October. A huge win over Penn State earned them a chance at revenge and a possible BCS berth. To make that happen, Wisconsin's fourth-ranked defense will need to perform better in the rematch.
Kirk Cousins has seemed like a miracle worker at times this season and he'll need to reach into his bag of tricks one more time on Saturday. With two good defenses, the game will likely come down to which offense makes more key plays in the second half.
Prediction: Wisconsin by seven
No. 10 Oklahoma vs. No. 3 Oklahoma State
A rivalry game with the Big 12 Championship and a BCS bid on the line? It doesn't get much better than that.
The Sooners defense has been exposed by Texas Tech and Baylor, which is an ominous sign against Oklahoma State's high-powered offense.
Justin Blackmon steals most of the headlines, but Joseph Randle has been equally important to the Cowboys attack. He keeps opposing defenses honest when they should be focusing on the pass.
They need a win to keep their slim national championship hopes alive, which is major motivation.
Prediction: Oklahoma State by six
