NFL Power Rankings Week 13: Star Watch for MVPs of League's Best Teams

Chris TrapassoNov 28, 2011

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will win the 2011 NFL MVP, but who are the most valuable guys on the league's top teams?

The best clubs have obviously received contributions from many players through 11 games, yet they all have one guy that's has been the key to their success in 2011.

Aaron Rodgers

Whenever I watch Tom Brady, I think to myself that there is no way any quarterback could operate an offense more efficiently.

Then I realize, at least this year, Rodgers has been more of a surgeon.

I mean 33 touchdowns, four interceptions and a 127.4 QB rating—how can you compete with that?

Will he falter?

I don't think so—too poised.

It's not like he's standing in the pocket all day like Brady, either.

He's taken 27 sacks in 2011.

Baltimore Ravens

Terrell Suggs

Ray Rice has been the key to Baltimore's offense, but their defense as a whole is the reason they're 8-3 and the best player on that defense has been Terrell Suggs this season.

T-Sizzle has nine sacks, three forced fumbles, four pass deflections and even two interceptions this season.

Talk about a stat line for a pass-rushing defensive end/outside linebacker.

To me, getting after the quarterback is the most important facet of a defense and Suggs is a threat against every team, every offensive line and every game plan that's focused on stopping him.

New Orleans Saints

Brees has already established himself as one of the best signal callers in the game. That's not why he's the Saints' MVP this season.

The defense has been well below average and he's carried this team to their current 7-3 record. Brees is on pace to break Dan Marino's single-season passing yards record and he's completing passes at a higher percentage than his Super Bowl winning season of 2009.

Without Brees playing at the level he has this year, the Saints would be fighting for a playoff spot and wouldn't be on top of the NFC South.

Can't wait to watch him tonight in the Superdome.
