Melissa Kellerman: Cowboys Forcing Cheerleader to Stop Tweeting Makes No Sense
Melissa Kellerman, the Dallas Cowboys cheerleader who gained prominence after being "tackled" by Jason Witten on Thanksgiving, has been forced by the organization to cancel her Twitter account.
It just doesn't make sense.
The next morning after the incident, Kellerman posted two innocent tweets about it after some of her newfound fans reached out about it.

She said, “Not hurtin’ today, like some of y’all thought I would be! Our TE isn’t as tough as he looks… That or I’m WAY tougher than I look. ;)” and “I’m not the best at Jason Witten trust falls. ;)”
Is there anything wrong with either of those?
No. They were harmless little messages that addressed the situation that was nationally televised in a humorous way.
She was forced to delete her account that afternoon by the Cowboys and it just doesn’t make any sense.
CNBC’s Darren Rovell was pretty upset about the incident.
He’s got a point, why are these girls expected not to say anything in a public forum when they have people interested in their take on something?
He’s also upset that they aren’t allowed to capitalize on their newfound exposure.
It doesn’t make any sense that the most prominent cheerleading squad in the NFL has put a gag order on their members using Twitter, especially after a high-profile incident like this.
It’s not like she said anything to demean the organization, the fans or the players in any way. Hopefully this uproar over her Twitter handle being deleted forces the team to see things in a new light and allows her to reactivate and engage in social media once again.
