Urban Meyer Will Continue Corruption in Ohio State

Donald WoodNov 28, 2011

While the NCAA was too spineless to do anything of significance, the Florida Gators program that won two BCS National titles under Meyer was one of the most corrupt in the college football.

That’s not easy in a sport that features some of the biggest cheaters to ever walk the earth.

Ohio State is going from Jim Tressel to Urban Meyer. Way to clean up the program.

I always felt that Urban Meyer was getting out of Florida before something hit, just like Pete Carroll in USC. Meyer doesn’t want to get caught doing things like Tressel, but he still wants to rein over whichever program he runs like a limitless dictator.

Alabama coach Nick Saban told the Washington Post about Meyer’s possible return to the college football game:

"

Urban Meyer is a very good coach, he’s a good teacher. He’s good for young people. If coaching is in his heart, I think that’s what he should do. As you go through life and you do things and you make choices and decisions about what you do — and I know his involved circumstances around his health — but still you learn about yourself in everything you do. As you learn these things, sometimes things change in terms of what his direction is. I think everybody has to do that, and I don’t think anybody should be criticized for that.

"

From one crook to another, some things will never change.

Meyer is the big name that Ohio State has been yearning for since the departure of Jim Tressel and not-so-nice terms, and they finally locked him up.

While this is a great deal for recruiting and for the future of the Ohio State program, it’s equally as good for the Big-10 conference. With a coach like Urban Meyer in the conference, teams looking to join a bigger league in this age of realignment will consider the Big-10 more now.

My prediction is that Meyer will be out of Ohio State in five years. His departure will be shrouded in controversy, but the NCAA will find nothing. Surprise, surprise.
