Carlos Boozer to Miami Heat for Shawn Marion?

Brandon RibakDec 22, 2008

It would not be a surprise if the Utah Jazz’s All-Star power forward Carlos Boozer was sent to Miami in exchange for Shawn Marion. (Says Terry Pluto from the Cleveland, OH Sports Blog.)

The Miami Heat are in need of a big man that can grab boards and carry them to the playoffs this season.

The Utah Jazz are expected to re-sign power forward Paul Millsap to a hefty contract that would keep him on the team for years to come. Shawn Marion is an extremely versatile player that could fit in nicely with the Jazz at the small forward position.

Miami Heat and Carlos Boozer

Boozer can supply the Heat with experience (six years), as well as offense (20.5 points per game this season) and defense (11.7 rebounds per game this season, fourth in the NBA). Entering the Eastern Conference could enable Boozer to produce even more if the trade were to go through.

Boozer’s health is the main concern, but how could you refuse a player that drops 20-plus points and 10-plus boards every night?

Utah Jazz and Shawn Marion

Marion could help the Jazz turn into a top team in the Western Conference. Shawn can shoot, pass, steal, block, rebound, and defend the most elite players in the game today. He could make a huge impact towards the Jazz’s win column this season and does not have much injury risk to be concerned of.

So who would you rather have on your team? Do you think this trade has a chance of going through? Post a comment and let me know what you think!
