NFL Power Rankings: Broncos and Red-Hot Teams Rolling the Right Way

Eric BallNov 28, 2011

He did it again.

Are you a Tim Tebow believer yet? He led his Broncos to yet another comeback victory on the road against the Chargers and has now gotten the Broncos on the smiling side of .500 after a horrific 1-4 start.

He is beginning to get very comfortable in the pocket and even completed 50 percent of his passes for the first time this season. He is turning WR Eric Decker (462 yards, seven TDs) into a star and RB Willis McGahee (658 yards, three TDs) is experiencing a career revival.

But the biggest reason for their 5-1 run is the Von Miller and Elvis Dumervil defense. The two are a nightmare for opposing QBs and have now allowed 17 points or less in three straight games. Miller is a lock for Defensive Rookie of the Year and Dumervil is finally healthy after missing over a year.

With the Vikings on deck and games against the Jay Cutler-less Bears, Bills and Chiefs still on tap...this team is more than capable of winning 10 games and sneaking into the playoffs if the Bengals falter.

Here are two other teams vaulting up the rankings:

No. 13 Dallas Cowboys

The schedule has really opened up and the Cowboys are reaping the benefits. QB Tony Romo is cutting down on the turnovers and it's allowing an underrated defense to shine.

They are quietly allowing 15.7 points in their last four games and are now ninth in the league against the rush, allowing just over 100 yards per game.

Next up to pad the win total? The Arizona Cardinals. And the wins just keep on rolling for the new favorite in the NFC East.

No. 17 Tennessee Titans

Chris Johnson is baaaack.

His 190 rushing yards against the Bucs have rejuvenated the Titans and they are now in a position to win another four games. The reeling Bills are up next, with the Colts, Jags and QB-less Texans still on the slate.

With all of the struggles the Texans are about to face, the Titans have a shot of making up the two-game difference and winning the division. They have a veteran QB in Matt Hasselbeck that knows how to make miracle runs to reach the playoffs and a defense that is among the better 15 in the league.

The sun is shinning bright in Nashville right now.
