Week 13 Waiver Wire: Roy Helu and Top Pickups to Lift Your Fantasy Squad
Washington Redskins rookie running back Roy Helu continues to prove he deserves the starting job over Ryan Torain, rushing for 108 yards and catching seven balls for 54 yards against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 12.
The fourth-round pick out of Nebraska is proving he belongs in the NFL and he helped the Redskins defeat the Seahawks, 23-17, as they picked up their fourth win of the season.
Helu is one of three top waiver-wire pickups for Week 13.

Colts Release Kenny Moore

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
3. Donald Brown, RB, Indianapolis Colts
I'm not the biggest believer in Donald Brown, but he does appear to be surpassing starter Joseph Addai, who had just seven carries in Week 12 against the Carolina Panthers.
Brown received a team-high 14 carries against the Panthers, racking up 80 yards and a touchdown as the Colts scored their most points since Week 5.
I would start Brown in favorable matchups only, which pretty much just leaves Week 15 against the Tennessee Titans.
2. Johnny Knox, WR, Chicago Bears
You would think with starting quarterback Jay Cutler out of action Johnny Knox's value would actually decrease, but he's actually spent more time developing a rapport with backup Caleb Hanie on the Bears' second team.
That showed in Week 12, when Knox went off for 145 yards and a touchdown against the Oakland Raiders.
Knox was not only targeted 10 times, he made some spectacular catches along the way, and he faces some forgiving pass defenses down the stretch.
1. Roy Helu, RB, Washington Redskins
Hopefully, by now Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan trusts Roy Helu as his starter.
Whenever Helu's been given a legitimate chance to shine, he's made the most of his opportunities, and he was actually averaging 4.9 yards per carry even more Sunday's outburst.
He doesn't face the most forgiving rush defenses in the coming weeks, but, then again, the Seahawks were allowing the eighth-fewest fantasy points to running backs before Helu exploded.
