Patriots vs. Eagles: Tom Brady Shreds Philly's Defense to Pieces in Victory

The proclaimed "Dream Team" was simply no match for Tom Brady and the New England Patriots Sunday afternoon. Brady and the Pats threw up 38 total offensive points while holding the Philadelphia Eagles to 20. 

Brady completed 24 of his 34 passes for 361 yards while tossing three touchdowns and recording a stellar 134.6 quarterback rating. Wes Welker was Brady's top receiver as he caught eight passes for 115 yards and two touchdowns, while Deion Branch snagged six passes for 125 yards. 

The Eagles simply had no answer for New England's offensive attack, especially Rob Gronkowski. The second-year player out of Arizona recorded four receptions for 59 yards and a touchdown as Philly lined up with Nnamdi Asomugha on him the entire game—that should show much opposing defenses respect Gronkowski. 

Philadelphia was forced to start Vince Young at quarterback with Michael Vick missing a second consecutive game with broken ribs, and V.Y. was simply horrific in the team's loss. The Texas product completed only 54.2 percent of his passes while being picked off once, but somehow managed to accumulate 400 yards and a touchdown—which is a pure miracle.

New England did its job of containing Philadelphia's talented offensive attack, especially the NFL's most dynamic running back, LeSean McCoy. McCoy ran for only 31 yards on 10 carries while catching only four passes for 31 yards, but did manage to punch in a touchdown.

All in all, this was McCoy's worst showing in 2011. 

With the victory, New England now improves to 8-3 on the season, two games ahead of the New York Jets, who knocked off the Buffalo Bills earlier Sunday afternoon. 

After losing two games back-to-back for the first time since 2006, the Patriots have now won three in a row and appear to be on a roll.
