Week 13 Waiver Wire: Donald Brown and More Breakout Performers You Should Add

Tim DanielsNov 28, 2011

Several fantasy football afterthoughts had big games in Week 12 and will therefore be hot commodities on this week's waiver wire. Not all of them will be able to replicate their success, though, so owners will need to be selective. Here are three breakout players with the most upside.

RB: Donald Brown – Indianapolis Colts

Brown entered the season as a first-round bust whose roster spot was in jeopardy. Due to Joseph Addai's continued injury problems and Delone Carter's ineffectiveness, Brown has seized his chance to become Indianapolis' feature back.

He rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown against Carolina, which should be enough to ensure he sees a bulk of the carries next week. As long as Brown is getting consistent touches, he'll be worthy of starting in the flex position.

Week 13 Projection: 12 fantasy points.

WR: Greg Little – Cleveland Browns

Fantasy owners have been waiting for Little, or another Cleveland wide receiver, to become fantasy relevant all season. Up until this week, the Browns have stuck with a conservative attack, but it appears they might finally be breaking out of that shell.

Cleveland needs to see what it has in Colt McCoy before April's quarterback-rich draft, so don't be surprised if there more pass plays called over the final handful of weeks. That will make Little, who seen 13 targets on Sunday, an intriguing option.

Week 13 Projection: nine fantasy points.

TE: Jermaine Gresham – Cincinnati Bengals

Gresham has always possessed enough talent to become an elite fantasy tight end, but hasn't been a focal point of Cincinnati's offense. With A.J. Green bottled up for most of the afternoon, Gresham seen nine targets and caught a touchdown vs. Cleveland.

Tight end is a weak fantasy points, so any time one sees nine looks in a single game, it should catch the eye of fantasy owners. Gresham is a solid option heading into next weekend crucial clash against Pittsburgh with the Steelers likely to key in on Green.

Week 13 Projection: eight fantasy points.
