Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Fantasy owners must feel truly blessed to avoid two separate serious injuries to the star RBs knee in the same game.
Update: 3:45 p.m. EDT - Wells is injured again this game and it does not look good.
Stay tuned here for more updates as they come in on the status of Wells for the rest of this game and the season.
Update: 2:10 p.m. EDT – Wells has returned to the game.
Fantasy Impact
Wells has been dealing with a knee injury that he admitted would bother him throughout the season, but it hasn’t stopped him from producing some pretty solid stat lines.
Owners have been able to rely on him, and he already went off for 107 yards on just seven carries with plenty of time left in the second quarter before going down today.
Any significant time missed would be a huge blow to Wells owners, as the Cardinals really do not possess a solid backup for them to handcuff him to.
Who's the Backup?
LaRod Stephens-Howling, Alfonso Smith and Chester Taylor could all be expected to split carries in the event that Wells cannot play.
None of these guys are viable fantasy players, and the team will struggle to run the ball without Wells.
Devastation Scale
Five. The Cardinals really don’t have much to play for this season, but if they want to win games, it just got a lot harder without their starting RB.
With Kevin Kolb already dealing with a number of foot ailments, John Skelton has been asked to come in and shoulder the load at QB. Having a starting signal caller and now possibly a starting RB out is going to really hurt the Cards chances at winning any more games this year.
Timeline for Return
No official word has been released but it is questionable for Johnson to return to the game.
Update – Wells has returned to the game.
