Cleveland Browns vs. Cincinnati Bengals: Halftime Observations for the Bengals

Joseph MerkelNov 27, 2011

The Cincinnati Bengals caught a bit of a bad luck when Cleveland Browns' running back Peyton Hillis was deemed active for this game.

He's not particularly fast, but boy is he hard to take down.

Hillis enjoys moving the pile, but the Bengals can't let him do that. That said, let's take a look at a few more halftime adjustments the Bengals should make for the third and fourth quarters.

Smart Decisions

It's not a terrible decision to go for it on 4th-and-goal from the one-yard line, but in a division matchup, points are crucial. If this game is close in the end, that three points could very well come back to haunt Marvin Lewis.

Must-Win

After back-to-back division losses, the Bengals know they're barely clinging to a wild-card playoff spot.

Currently nestled in the No. 6 spot in the division, they have the Broncos, Jets, Bills and Titans just one-game behind them. Those teams are begging for a Cincy loss, but the Bengals will just have to disappoint them today.

With two more matchups against the Steelers and Ravens, Cincinnati has to win the games they're supposed to.

This is one of them.

Ceddy Bear

A teddy bear can be very comforting to any youngster. Rookie Andy Dalton is probably very comfortable with how well Cedric Benson is running the football early in this game.

If it isn't broken, don't fix it.

The Bengals need to keep pounding the rock, as it will open up the passing game in the second half pretty easily. By running play-action the Cincinnati will be able to take their shots down the field.

Let's give A.J. Green a proper homecoming with a nice long touchdown pass.
