Injury Worries Ahead of FA Cup clash at Old Trafford

Ashish WesleyFeb 14, 2008

Back in Bangalore, and it's good to be back. The countdown to our FA cup clash with Manure is down to just one day. Let's take a look at the news before the clash.

Looks like we have some major injury worries going into the tie at Old Trafford. We could be missing most of our backline with Billy Gallas looking like the only one fit enough to play. One website says, "Gael Clichy (hamstring) and Bacary Sagna (personal reasons) are highly likely to miss out, while Philippe Senderos (thigh/knee) can be considered doubtful."

Well that means that Kolo will resume his starting spot alongside Gallas, probably Eboue down the right and maybe Wenger could draft in Armand Traore at left back. There could be any number of line-up possiblities when you comsider that Gilberto and the Flamster can play at the back when required. We will just have to wait and see.

The injuries are just piling up, we will really have to show real grit now! There's not a whole lot more going into the match against the Manky Shite, which is a bit of a downer.

On a much brighter note, Cesc Fabregas is in contract talks to extend his contract at Arsenal. With six years left on his contract, Cesc could well be signing up for life at Arsenal! That's just fantastic!

"I am under contract until 2014, six years are remaining and I am speaking to my club who are interested in extending it,” Fabregas said.

“I want to succeed at Arsenal and the fact that the club want me is fundamental.”

Speechless... Cescy, you leave me speechless, really you do!

I'm sure y'all would have come across the stories about Barca wanting Le Gaffer at the Nou Camp next season, as ludicrous as that sounds, Vital Arsenal gives us 10 reasons why that will not happen—if any of you needed any reassuarance at all. It's all a bit of hot air as I'm sure you will all agree.

Adebayor has been voted as the player of the month by fans on .con. Congratulations to the big man, he sure does deserve it for his recent displays!

"The Arsenal fans voted me as player of the month and I'm very happy and pleased about that because it means a lot of people believe in you," he said.
