WWE TLC 2011: Top 5 Scariest Moments in TLC Match History
WWE TLC 2011 is coming next month and I am very interested to see what the future holds for the company's next big event. With that, it is always fun to look back on past shows.
The theme of the show is built around tables, ladders and chairs, and that is exactly what match type I will look back on today. These will be the scariest moments during a TLC match in the history of WWE!
Please note: I will not be mentioning the third TLC match in May, 2001. Feel free to discuss the match all you want, but I will not be. Thank you!
5. Edge Crushes Ric Flair
1 of 5This entire match was scary to watch, but one spot stood above the rest.
Edge gave Ric Flair a super-plex off the top of the ladder inside the ring, and I feared for both men's health. Ric should have never been in this match, and Edge did not need another TLC match on his resume at this point in his career.
Both men proved everyone wrong and had an excellent match; however, I am not going to lie. Ric being on top of the ladder did scare me...
4. Undertaker Goes for a Ride
2 of 5The last minute of the video does a better job at explaining this moment than I ever could. There is no way Undertaker should have been performing that spot.
To see him fly off the ladder through tables outside the ring was beyond ridiculous! I am surprised Taker was able to wrestle again after that. Both men put on another amazing TLC match, but that final spot was way overboard.
Just too scary...
3. Jericho Bulldogs Bubba Ray
3 of 5This moment occurs about three minutes into the video, but it is not fun to watch. I forgot just how painful that move looked upon another viewing.
Basically, Chris Jericho gave Bubba Ray Dudley a bulldog from the top of the ladder. However, he spiked his entire upper body and head into the mat. The landing was just brutal to see.
Again, the match was great, and it was an amazing Raw moment, but safety come first. My hat goes off to Bubba Ray for still being able to perform today in 2011...
2. Jeff Hardy Walks on Ladders?
4 of 5I have no idea who thought of this, but it was just outrageous to even try. I understand wanting to steal the show and make a "moment," but this was too much.
Jeff Hardy tried to walk across a few ladders to get to the hanging belts in the middle of the ring, and he fell awkwardly to the mat. He caught himself, but the damage was done.
The failed attempt was thankfully aborted before anybody could seriously hurt themselves.
1. Jeff Hardy and D-Von Dudley Hang out
5 of 5Some will mention Edge spearing Jeff Hardy at WrestleMania XVII, but I was not scared by that move. We had already seen it, and it worked perfectly in 2000. Thus, there was no fear when seeing it again.
However, this moment was one of the biggest "jaw droppers" I ever witnessed in my 20 years as a wrestling fan. Jeff Hardy and D-Von Dudley both went for the tag straps and got the ladder pulled out from under them!
Both of them just dangling in the air was beyond scary to watch! What if the cable broke? What if a tag title fell on accident? What if they pulled the entire arena down on top of them?
Thankfully, it only lasted a few seconds, but it seemed to last forever...
