Arizona Cardinals vs. St. Louis Rams: Spread Info, Line and Predictions

Andrew KulhaNov 26, 2011

I don't think anybody is going to confuse this matchup between the 3-7 Arizona Cardinals and the 2-8 St. Louis Rams as a playoff preview, but that doesn't mean it won't be a good game.

To think that bad teams don't have anything to play for near the end of the season is completely false, especially in a league like the NFL.

Pride is always on the line, whether it's the Super Bowl or preseason.

Both of these teams came into the year with high expectations, but obviously they have been very disappointing.

Finishing the year on a high note is always important, so expect both of these teams to come out and give their best effort

Where: Edward Jones Dome, St. Louis, MO

When: Sunday Nov. 27. 1 p.m EST

Watch: FOX

Spread: Rams -3

Honestly, this game could go either way, but the Rams get the edge because of the home field. This is too close to call.

Over/Under: 40

The Cardinals are averaging 19 points a game, while St. Louis is averaging an abysmal 12. Based off these numbers I would stay away from the over.

Key Injuries:

Cardinals: Defensive tackle Dan Williams out (arm), linebacker Joey Porter out (knee), safety Kerry Rhodes out (foot), tackle Brandon Keith questionable (head), cornerback Michael Adams questionable (hamstring), tight end Todd Heap questionable (hamstring), tight end Rob Housler questionable (groin), quarterback Kevin Kolb questionable (toe).

Rams: Defensive tackle Justin Bannan out (shoulder), linebacker Josh Hull out (hamstring), tackle Mark LeVoir out (pectoral), wide receiver Denario Alexander questionable (hamstring), linebacker James Laurinatis questionable (foot), defensive end Chris long questionable (ankle), running back Carnell Williams questionable (calf). wide receiver Mark Clayton undisclosed (knee), tackle Jason Smith undisclosed (head).

Fantasy Big Plays:

Start: Rams running back Steven Jackson will be looking to bounce back from a sub-par performance against Seattle. The Cardinals are giving up 127.2 rushing yards per game, and they don't have nose tackle Dan Williams due to injury.

Sit: Last time Sam Bradford played the Cardinals he threw three interceptions. He fumbled twice and threw another pick last week. Right now he's a turnover machine and isn't worth the faith.

Keys to Cardinals Win:

The running game is key to winning games on the road, so the Cardinals are going to have to rely on Beanie Wells, especially with the uncertainty at quarterback.

He hasn't gotten over 100 yards since Week 3 though, and he hasn't scored a touchdown in three games.

The Rams give up a horrible 148.1 yards per game on the ground though, so if healthy he should have a good day.

Keys to Rams Win:

Sam Bradford needs to stay upright and play like the quarterback he was drafted to be. As I mentioned before, he had a horrible outing last time against he Cardinals, but he's got the potential to do great things in this league.

Before the Rams can look forward they need to pick up the pieces of this season. Getting Bradford on track and away from turnovers would be a great place to start.

Prediction:

Both of these teams struggle defensively, but the Cardinals have been the better team as of late. Both teams are coming off of losses, but the Cardinals look to be the better of the two.
