Tim Tebow and 8 NFL Players Who Inexplicably Find Ways to Win Games
They just get it.
Somehow, someway, they make it work. Whenever they are on the field, they are always in on the action, always involved in a scoring play.
While others are "expected" to make the big play or score the winning touchdown or make the game-saving tackle, they are the ones you either think of as an anomaly or one who isn't supposed to be on the field.
They just make it work and for the NFL fan, they are a delight to watch
Wes Welker, New England Patriots
1 of 9When you look at him on the field, you see this little guy who looks like he could snap in a stiff wind.
But all Welker does is make plays and remain Tom Brady's leading target.
That alone means he is an important cog in the Patriots offense.
Chris Ogbonnaya, Cleveland Browns
2 of 9He subbed for injured runners Montario Hardesty and Peyton Hillis and has delivered for the Browns.
He ran for over 100 yards in the 14-10 win over Jacksonville two weeks ago.
He just moved into the starting lineup and ran for daylight.
Jacoby Jones, Houston Texans
3 of 9Ask the Jaguars how good Jones is.
As a receiver and kick returner, Jones has been a thorn in the side of the Jaguars in two games this year,
Jones is deceptively fast and seems to make the big play when the Texans need it most.
Vince Young, Philadelphia Eagles
4 of 9Could there be a quarterback controversy in Philadelphia?
After last week's 38-20 loss to the Patriots, you cannot deny the stats of Young. He threw for 400 yards, which is no small feat.
Young has a good arm and is mobile and seems to come up big when he is inserted into the lineup.
Maybe with the right situation, he becomes instant offense like Michael Vick was when he became the starter in Philly.
Tim Tebow, Denver Broncos
5 of 9It would appear you can make a case that Tim Tebow is either the most overrated or underrated player in the NFL.
And all he does is win football games and score touchdowns.
He has issues with reading defenses, throwing a tight spiral and even finding an open receiver. But the Broncos continue to win with him.
I think the goal is to win in the NFL, so he must be doing something right.
Danny Woodhead, New England Patriots
6 of 9His size and stature make him look like a little kid on the playground.
His heart and determination make him instant success in the New England Patriots offense.
Woodhead went from a free-agent pick up to a cult hero in the NFL.
Roy Helu, Washington Redskins
7 of 9He was the 105th selection in this year's draft out of Nebraska and through injuries and determination, he is now the featured back and option in the Redskins offense.
He may be the only one on the team the 'Skins can depend on to reach the end zone lately.
The team depends on him to make the tough yards with his 220-pound frame.
Victor Cruz, New York Giants
8 of 9Another find for Tom Coughlin and the Giants.
While the team looked to other more-known receivers to give them the push they needed in the receiving game, it is Cruz who is taking everyone by storm this year.
The free-agent signee out of Massachusetts Amherst is proving it does not matter if you are drafted. It matters more what happens when you get on the field.
Pierre Garcon, Indianapolis Colts
9 of 9Besides having one of the coolest names in football, Garcon is also one of the best receivers in the game.
A product of Mt. Union, Garcon has been a dependable option in the Colts passing game the past three years.
He only looks to get better. Whenever a tough catch is to be made, Garcon is usually around the ball.
