Week 12 Fantasy Rankings: Santonio Holmes and More WRs Who Will Shine

Thad NovakNov 26, 2011

Just because Green Bay has already played its Week 12 game doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of big passing games yet to come. Look for this trio of pass catchers to put up serious fantasy point totals this weekend:

Santonio Holmes, New York Jets

Mark Sanchez and the Jets’ passing game haven’t been too consistent this year, but playing at home should help them out. Even more helpful will be facing a Buffalo secondary that will be without top CB Terrence McGee (done for the year with a knee injury).

Holmes is the closest thing to an explosive receiver on the New York roster, and he’ll rarely have a better opportunity to break off a long catch-and-run TD than in this game. Look for Holmes to post a considerable improvement to his season total of 472 receiving yards.

Victor Cruz, New York Giants

Cruz’s breakout season may slow down eventually, but it won’t be this week. The fast turf of the Superdome will be great for his big-play potential, and Eli Manning will have to air it out all night to keep up with Drew Brees and the Saints.

Cruz also has the advantage of facing a beatable secondary, as New Orleans is ranked just 19th in the league against the pass. He won’t be able to keep the Giants on top on the scoreboard, but Cruz should deliver wins for plenty of fantasy owners on Monday night.

Roddy White, Atlanta Falcons

Rarely a bad start in fantasy play, White faces a plum matchup on Sunday. The injury-plagued Viking secondary ranks just 28th in the league in defending the pass.

Atlanta is likely to win this one going away, so White won’t get many touches in the fourth quarter. Even so, he’s got a great chance for a big-play TD or two against the vulnerable Minnesota corners.
