Arkansas vs. LSU: Tigers Leave No Doubt They Are Best in Nation

A game that inflated doubts we had about LSU in the start completely destroyed them by the time it was all over. 

LSU took on Arkansas in a game that was supposed to match equal teams on the field of battle. That isn't what we got. 

What we saw was Arkansas throw amazing blows at LSU to start the game, and look like they were about to open up a can. The game and its momentum completely changed hands as LSU woke up and took over all aspects of football on Friday, beating Arkansas 41-17. So much for an upset. 

What's amazing and gives me even more confidence in my assertion is that LSU was bullied for a spell on Friday. Yet, they bounced back. There was this punishing blow that led to an Arkansas touchdown by Alonso Highsmith. 

That seemed to slap LSU awake as they showed exactly who they are as they pounded the ball and delivered timely defense to wallop Arkansas the rest of the game. 

Everyone got into the mix as Tyrann Mathieu ran a punt back for a score, Spencer Ware punched one in as did Jordan Jefferson. 

A game that started out as a disaster ended in the complete opposite manner, with a nation watching the top of the heap assert itself. 

As Arkansas quarterback Tyler Wilson tried to be the man he is normally, he found that things are far different when you have NFL-level talent on the other side of the ball. It led to Wilson throwing 14-for-22 for 202 yards, a touchdown and an interception.

It wasn't close to the extraordinary lines he is used to. The reason was simple. It came in the form of LSU defenders coming from nowhere to defend receivers and bat balls. All the while you had just one thought: these guys are good.

Going into the all-important games of the season, our confidence in who is on top is renewed. LSU not only earned the top spot, they deserve it.
